Backstage News on Will Ospreay’s AEW Status – Will Ospreay is set to join AEW after concluding his tenure with New Japan Pro Wrestling, following his decision to leave the Japanese promotion this year.
Amid interest from various promotions, including WWE and TNA, Ospreay officially signed with AEW this past November, with the announcement made at Full Gear in November. It was confirmed that he would commence full-time with AEW starting at Revolution.
Despite TNA making a substantial offer, Ospreay’s choice to join AEW was solidified.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that Ospreay is scheduled to appear at Revolution in Greensboro and will become a regular on AEW TV starting in February.
Meltzer wrote, “Ospreay is scheduled for Revolution in Greensboro and will be starting as a regular on TV in February.
Revolution, taking place in March, is also expected to feature the final match of Sting’s legendary career. This marks a significant move for Ospreay as he embarks on a new chapter in his wrestling journey with All Elite Wrestling.
