Two More AEW Names Leaving the Company – A key cog in putting together AEW’s live events will be leaving the company following next Saturday’s Worlds End in addition to their chief marketing & merchandising officer.
Rafael Morffi, the company’s inaugural vice president of live events & touring, has taken a senior executive position with Brooklyn, New York’s Barclays Center, working on both booking events for the arena and working for the Brooklyn Nets’ ownership team.
Morrfi’s responsibilities included setting up AEW’s live event tours, booking buildings, local marketing, and the rest of the logistics around that part of the business.
According to PWInsider, Morffi gave his notice earlier this month when AEW was in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The reason behind the move is that it gives Morrfi more family time as they reside in Brooklyn.
Shortly after that news, Fightful and Raj Giri reported that chief marketing & merchandising officer Dana Massie is also finishing up, confirmed by our Bryan Alvarez. There was no specific departure date given, nor if it was her decision to leave or AEW’s.
Massie is the wife of the Young Bucks’ Matt Jackson who, along with brother Nick, signed new multi-year deals this year.
No replacements has been made public as of this writing.
These are the latest changes in AEW leadership in the past few months as Kevin Sullivan, their vice president of post production, was let go earlier this month while QT Marshall, their vice president of show & creative coordination, is leaving the company by year’s end.
