WWE and Panini Resolve Lawsuit Through Settlement – The legal battle between WWE and collectibles company Panini, stemming from a breach of their licensing contract, has finally reached a resolution after a period of mutual allegations and claims.
It all began with a licensing agreement in March 2022, granting Panini the rights to produce WWE-themed trading cards and stickers in exchange for royalty payments to WWE. However, disputes arose when Panini accused WWE of unjustly attempting to terminate the agreement, seeking $5.625 million in unpaid royalty fees.
In response, WWE filed its own complaint, alleging that Panini breached the licensing deal, prompting WWE to terminate it for cause. Additionally, WWE claimed Panini was infringing on their intellectual property rights by continuing to sell WWE-related products, specifically citing cards featuring Bianca Belair, Dominik Mysterio, Roman Reigns, Cody Rhodes, and Seth Rollins.
As seen below, ecent court documents obtained by Paul Lesko indicate that both parties have reached a settlement. They jointly informed the court of their resolution and requested the case be dismissed with prejudice. This legal term signifies the finality of the case, barring any retrial or reopening of the lawsuit in the future.
Yesterday, and as expected, Panini and WWE finally informed the court they settled their issues against each other…and asked the court to dismiss the action WITH PREJUDICE meaning the case will be dead dead dead. pic.twitter.com/CpIv7L3KC6

The parties did this as a "letter motion" to the court because as you may remember, the court got a whiff that the parties might settle the case…so she dismissed the case outright. A quick/odd maneuver, but it appears to have been effective!https://t.co/TVtI5dUNX8

So, the parties want the judge to briefly reopen the case and order the case dismissed WITH PREJUDICE because when she dismissed it, she did so WITHOUT PREJUDICE….meaning either side could refile.
The parties' proposal here would give finality to these issues.
