Bully Ray Talks CM Punk’s WWE Return – Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Bully Ray recently shared his perspective on CM Punk’s WWE return, highlighting how this comeback presents an opportunity for Punk to reset and potentially erase any negative impressions from his AEW tenure, whether those perceptions were based on reality or not.
According to Ray, returning to WWE allows Punk to show growth and maturity, emphasizing that both he and the company have evolved since his departure. Ray sees this as a chance for Punk to convey, “I grew up, WWE grew up, and now we can collaborate successfully.”
He also touched on the understanding that major stars receive special treatment, citing the importance of catering to their needs to keep them content and motivated, regardless of the industry. Ray implied that WWE’s familiarity with Punk’s preferences and motivations could contribute to a more positive experience for him this time around.
“This is an opportunity for CM Punk to wash away all the bad taste, whether it’s perception or reality, that [is] in peoples’ mouths. This is [the] time to say, ‘I grew up. WWE grew up. And now we can do great business together.’”
Ray continued, “They [WWE] know what makes him tick. Listen, big stars get catered to, whether it’s in the movies, whether it’s in sports, no matter where it is. You learn what makes a star tick and you try to keep them as happy as possible.”
