WWE in Talks for Lucrative PLE Deals – WWE is set to continue its trend of hosting more international events in cities that are willing to pay for them. This year has already seen WWE events like Backlash in Puerto Rico and Money in the Bank in the UK, with more international shows planned.
Crown Jewel is scheduled for November 4, 2023, in Saudi Arabia, followed by Survivor Series in Chicago, IL, at the United Center three weeks later. The locations for the Royal Rumble and WrestleMania 40 in the US have already been confirmed.
Next year, WWE is hosting Elimination Chamber in February at Optus Stadium in Perth, Western Australia, and Bash in Berlin on August 31, 2024, at the Mercedes-Benz Arena in Germany.
There are ongoing discussions about potentially holding WWE Backlash in Paris, France, in the Spring of 2024. Additionally, there’s a bid from Cleveland, Ohio, to host WWE Summerslam in 2024.
In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that WWE is in talks with various city governments to host SummerSlam
Meltzer wrote, “We were told regarding that show that WWE is in negotiations with a lot of different city governments around the world to get significant money for PPV events going forward with Paris being one of those cities.”
