In a surprising turn of events, the match between Alpha Academy and The Creed Brothers has been confirmed for Sunday. This marks the debut of the NXT tag team on the main roster.
As revealed by Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE officials have officially promoted the Creeds to the main roster. This suggests that their appearance is not just a one-time event but a signal that they will be regular fixtures on Raw going forward.
“I was told tonight that right now, barring any changes. And it was not like it was 100%. But right now, they’re being called up. So, you know, I mean, which also means they should win, when it comes to them. I think it’s about time for them to be called up, honestly. I mean, they’re a little rough around the edges. They’re impressive as hell. Yeah. I mean, there was a time where it’s like, my mentality was and I’m sure it’s the same as theirs. It’s like these guys have the chance to be really big stars and they’re very, very high on Julius as a singles. But they’ll probably start as a tag team. And you know, the deal in the sense of it’s like, don’t put them on that show before they’re ready. Because a lot of guys have been put up, brought up too early and pushed too early, and it ends up backfiring, you know, and you could, you know, you could make arguments that they’re not quite all the way there, even though, you know, Julius will impress people what he does and Brutus too, to a different degree. But I think it’s time, you know. Well, they’re certainly in there with the perfect opponents because Chad Gable is a fantastic wrestler. And the thing with Otis is if they throw Otis around and they can do that, you know, it’ll get over. I think it’s about time for them. I think it’s time for Bron Breakker, too.”
