Lyra Valkyria On Winning NXT Women’s Title, Killer Kelly – Lyra Valkyria’s victory in the main event of NXT Halloween Havoc Night One on October 24 was an emotional and career-defining moment. She defeated none other than Becky Lynch to capture the NXT Women’s Championship, marking her first title win in WWE and cementing her status as a top competitor in the company.
This remarkable achievement is a testament to her hard work, dedication, and perseverance in the world of professional wrestling. Winning the championship was a dream come true for Valkyria, and it undoubtedly signifies the beginning of an exciting chapter in her WWE career.
In an NXT Digital Exclusive, Lyra Valkyria was asked to describe what her victory meant to her.
“It doesn’t feel real. I really feel like I can’t put it into words. When I was out there, it felt like time was standing still, and everything connected. It just felt like everything I’ve worked for for nine years now all came together. I felt on top of the world because it felt like no decision I’ve ever made has been bad because it all led to this. I think that I would live my entire life again just to feel what I felt holding this title up out there. I think in what we do, we would work our whole careers in the hopes of feeling what I feel right now, even once. I think I’ll be living in that moment for another nine years. I can’t explain how good it feels right now to be your NXT Women’s Champion,” Valkyria said.
After her loss, Becky Lynch said the future is in good hands.
In related news, Killer Kelly took to social media and posted herself celebrating Valkyria’s win with her. The picture was seemingly taken at the WWE Performance Center, as Valkyria still had her gear on. Kelly noted that she was proud of Valkyria, and she reflected on how far they had come since they wrestled each other in Ireland.
In another post, Kelly implied that she was watching the match live as she joked that one of the screams fans could hear when Valkyria won the title was not her. She also hinted that she cried from the beginning to the end of the match.
As Kelly noted, she has wrestled Valkyria plenty of times over the years, even before they arrived in WWE. At different points, Kelly and Valkyria both competed for NXT UK, but the company released Kelly in January 2020. Killer Kelly is currently signed to IMPACT Wrestling, and she is one-half of the IMPACT Knockouts World Tag Team Champions alongside Masha Slamovich.
