Swerve Strickland Dealing With Food Poisoning – Swerve Strickland’s has been pulled from this weekend’s Starrcast convention due to an injury. While the specific nature of the injury was not disclosed, it occurred during his tag team bout with Christian Cage against Sting and Darby Allin at the London pay-per-view event.
Strickland also missed AEW Dynamite recently, with Tony Khan citing his absence as being “due to illness.” During the All Out Media Call, Khan mentioned that several top stars were unavailable for the show due to illness or the impact of the hurricane in Florida.
“A lot of the top stars were unavailable either due to illness to even more so due to the hurricane. We had top stars like Saraya and Swerve, who we had good ideas for. They were unavailable due to illness,” Tony Khan said. “So many people coming out of Florida due to the hurricane including Kenny Omega, and I really would’ve liked to have Kenny Omega there.”
However, according to WrestleZone, Strickland’s absence from Dynamite was a result of food poisoning, not an injury. It’s important to clarify that Strickland is not currently injured, despite the previous mention of his injury from the Coffin Match.
Regarding his planned appearance at Starrcast, another unrelated issue prevented the live podcast from proceeding as scheduled, leading to the cancellation of the stage show. While Strickland was not part of the All Out pay-per-view plans, it’s crucial to note that he is not dealing with an injury at this time.
