The NXT Global Heritage Invitational reached the semi-final round on the September 19 episode of WWE NXT.
During tonight’s episode, Butch scored the victory over Tyler Bate to win Group A. In the second match, Duke Hudson busted the bracket by defeating Joe Coffey in a Group B match. In doing so, he created a three-way tie for the Group B lead. Later in the show, Hudson faced Nathan Frazer and Coffey in a tiebreaker match.
All three stars nearly scored the win at different points. Hudson delivered a particularly impressive performance, and he nearly emerged victorious. In the end, Frazer hit Hudson with the Phoenix Splash. Coffey took Frazer out and pinned Hudson with a lariat to win the match. As a result, he won Group B.
Coffey will face Butch in the tournament finals on the September 26 episode of WWE NXT. The winner will challenge Noam Dar for the NXT Heritage Cup at NXT No Mercy.
Several more matches and segments have been confirmed for the upcoming NXT episode.
Trick Williams is set to go head-to-head with Joe Gacy. This match stems from Gacy’s attempts to persuade Williams to join the group Schism.
Blair Davenport is ready to reignite her rivalry with Gigi Dolin in a highly anticipated singles showdown.
The NXT Champion, Carmelo Hayes, and Ilja Dragunov will participate in a contract signing for their forthcoming match at NXT No Mercy.
In an intriguing tag team contest, Bronco Nima and Lucien Price will face off against the formidable duo of Hank Walker and Tank Ledger. The victors in this match will earn themselves a coveted spot at The D’Angelo Family Dinner, where NXT Tag Team Champions Tony D’Angelo and Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo will assess their potential challengers.
As previously announced, Eddy Thorpe will engage in a Strap Match, while Butch squares off against Joe Coffey in the NXT Global Heritage Invitational Final.
