Following the announcement that Dominik Mysterio will defend his title against Dragon Lee on the September 25 episode of WWE RAW, Ali expressed his frustration backstage during an interview on the September 19 episode of NXT.
In his interview, Ali questioned the logic behind granting Lee a title shot after Ali had defeated him to earn his own title opportunity. He firmly stated that neither Dominik Mysterio nor Dragon Lee deserve to hold the championship. Ali concluded by promising to confront both of them on the upcoming September 25 episode of WWE RAW.
Taking his concerns to Twitter, Ali shared his dissatisfaction and demanded answers from WWE. He voiced his disbelief at the situation, where someone he had beaten to become the number one contender is now receiving a title opportunity before him.
He wrote: “Imagine beating someone to become the number one contender and having the loser get a championship before you. HOW DOES ANY OF THIS MAKE SENSE @WWE? I’m showing up at #WWERaw and I better get an answer.”
