Cathy Kelley On Possibly Wrestling In The Future – Cathy Kelley, currently serving as a backstage correspondent for WWE’s SmackDown brand, has shared her perspective on stepping into the wrestling ring. While discussing the possibility of entering the squared circle in an interview with Chris Van Vliet, Kelley indicated that it’s unlikely to happen.
Kelley mentioned that she did attempt to get in the ring once, training at Dave Marquez’s wrestling facility for Championship Wrestling For Hollywood. However, she noted the physical toll that even basic wrestling maneuvers can have on the body, including taking bumps and running the ropes.
“I don’t think so. I did try once, back in the day. Dave Marquez has a wrestling ring for Championship Wrestling For Hollywood up in the valley, so I’d go there. I think I took one or two bumps until I knocked the wind out myself. Even running the ropes, if you haven’t done it, it’s intense. You end up building up calluses on your back, I was bruised for probably a week.”
