7/17 WWE RAW Results – We are live from the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia, as Cody Rhodes makes his way to the ring. His music finally cuts off and the “Cody!” chants fire up.
Rhodes begins, “So, Atlanta, my home, what do you guys wanna talk about?”
He says they don’t have to talk because there is this large shadow that looms over this arena and the same shadow that looms over every arena. He says we are talking about Brock Lesnar. He says when Brock is called to this ring and his card has been pulled, he shows up. We don’t need to talk. Brock should come to the ring to accept his challenge for SummerSlam. Cody tells Brock to come out right now.
Cody waits for Brock, but Brock is not in a mood to reciprocate.
Cody says Brock is here tonight but he hasn’t seen him tonight. Brock is going to be ‘fashionably late’? If you are going to show up at 9:00, I’ll be here. Maybe Brock will be here at 10:00. Cody says he will be there. If you don’t show up until the end of the night, Cody says he will be waiting for Brock.
Cody says he would be remised if he didn’t bring it up. He says the woman who built him is in the front row tonight, his mom. Cody says he is a reason why the catchphrase at the Nightmare Academy would be Funky Like a Monkey but the one who tought him to fight is his mother.
Cody says his relationship with Brock is complex. There are only two words to describe it. They are ‘hard times’. Cody says that is okay. When you show up, it won’t be hard times for him in his home state and his home town. It will be hard times for Brock.
While Cody goes over to his family, Brock Lesnar’s music plays and Cody waits for Brock to come up the aisle, but the music stops.
Cody starts to walk to the back and Brock’s music plays again.
Cody waits for Brock at the entrance and he goes to the back. We see a chair thrown and then Cody and Brock come out. Brock hits Cody a few times with the chair. Brock sends Cody into the apron and then he runs Cody into the ring post. Brock picks up Cody in front of his mother and he gives Cody an F-5. Brock stands over Cody and puts him in the kimura..
Brock walks over to Cody’s mom and then he returns his attention to Cody. Brock sends Cody into the ring. Brock reapplies the kimura and then he releases the hold.
Brock winks at Cody’s mom. He stands up and glares down at him and yells off-mic, “Challenge accepted. I’ll see you at SummerSlam, bitch!”
We go to commercial.
GUNTHER vs. Matt Riddle
Giovanni Vinci and Ludwig Kaiser banned from ringside
They lock up and Riddle with a waist lock. Gunther with a wrist lock and he backs Riddle into the corner. Gunther with chops. Riddle with strikes and a guillotine. Riddle tries for a sleeper but Gunther with a snap mare and Gunther with a sleeper of his own. Riddle with a triangle and Gunther rolls through and gets a near fall.
We see Vinci and Kaiser in gorilla watching the monitor.
Riddle with a triangle and Gunther gets Riddle up and drops him over the top rope. Riddle with a kick to Gunther and Riddle comes off the steps into a chop. Gunther kicks Riddle.
We go to commercial.
We are back and both men are down. We see footage of a superplex by Riddle during the break. Riddle with chops and Gunther chops back. They continue the exchange. Riddle kicks Gunther to block a chop but Gunther with a chop. Riddle with a Pele Kick and running forearms. Riddle goes for an exploder but Gunther blocks it and Gunther with a European uppercut. Riddle with a kick and exploder followed by a kick to the back. Gunther blocks a kick and he chops Riddle. Riddle with kicks and Gunther with a chop and German suplex followed by a clothesline for a near fall. Gunther misses a clothesline and Riddle with a series of knees. Riddle with a running knee to the back of the head for a near fall.
Riddle goes up top for a twisting moonsault but Gunther gets his knees up and he hits a drop kick followed by a power bomb for the three ccount.
Winner: Gunther
After the match, Gunther gets on the announce table and he has something to say. He says you can boo him as much as you want but it will not stop that tonight is the best night of your sad lives because you came here to see the greatest Intercontinental champion of all time. Gunther says Matt Riddle is done. He says he is building a legacy. Drew, if you want to ride on his coattail, be his guest. Just like everyone else, you will fall to the Ring General.
Backstage:
Jackie Redmond is in the back with Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez. She asks what will be the factor to help them retain. Liv says there will be many factors. They talk about the rules, but don’t follow them. Raquel says the tougher the battle, the sweeter the victory. They are not going to back down from anyone.
Rhea Ripley shows up and she tells Jackie to leave. Raquel says not even you to Rhea. Liv starts to talk and Rhea with a head butt to Liv. Raquel punches Rhea and Rhea punches back. Rhea and Raquel have to be held back but Rhea kicks Raquel in the knee.
They call for a doctor to check on Raquel.
– The Judgment Day make their way to the ring as we go to commercial.
– Valhalla in the back with Erik and Ivar as she channels the Gods.
In the Arena:
Back to the ring, The Judgment Day are ready to speak.
Rhea says they are stronger than ever. Did anyone ever think they were going to break up. Anyone with half a brain cell can tell that they are better than everyone. They are built differently. They are not going to shatter because someone’s ego got bruised. The not only run Raw, they dominate it. Raquel just found that out. Rhea says she is the most dominant woman in this industry. She says she is unbeatable as the champion. Finn and Damian will become World champions. Tomorrow night, her Latino Heat will win the NXT North American Championship. “Dirty” Dom goes to speak, but is loudly drowned out by boos. Priest says they get it but all the boos don’t change the fact that tomorrow night, Dom wins the NXT North American title.
As they continue talking, the theme for Sami Zayn hits the interrupt them. Out comes Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens. The Undisputed WWE Tag-Team Champions mock Dom and then talk about their match against Finn Balor and Damian Priest tonight. Priest says they sound cocky. If they are confident in themselves, they should put their titles on the line tonight. Zayn says he feels like he should let his partner weigh in on this. He gives him permission to lose his cool. The fans chant “K-O! K-O!” He loses his cool and says he doesn’t care as long as he gets to punch faces. The titles are now on the line tonight.
– We go to the training room and the doctor says she is cleared but he has some concerns. Raquel refuses to put off the match so Adam is going to let the match happen.
– We see Alpha Academy and Maxxine Dupri backstage getting warmed up for their Viking Rules match later tonight.
WWE Women’s Tag-Team Championships
Raquel Rodriguez & Liv Morgan (C) vs. Sonya Deville & Chelsea Green
Sonya with a boot to Liv and she sends Liv into the turnbuckles. Green tags in and Sonya with kicks in the corner. Green and Sonya with a double delayed suplex. Green with an elbow drop for a near fall. Green sends Liv into the turnbuckles and Sonya tags in. Sonya with punches in the corner. Liv with punches to Sonya and Green. Liv with a kick but Sonya keeps Liv from making the tag. Liv with an enzuigiri and Raquel tags in and clotheslines Sonya a few times. Raquel with snake eyes and a clothesline. Raquel with a fallaway slam and she kicks Green off the apron. Raquel hits the ring post shoulder first when Sonya moves in the corner. Sonya with a single leg crab.
Sonya pulls Raquel into the center of the ring and adds more pressure on the knee. Raquel tries to get to the ropes but Sonya pulls Raquel back into the center of the ring. Liv breaks up the hold. Green and Liv tag in and Liv with a flying shoulder tackle or two followed by a hip into the corner and a knee into the corner. Liv goes up top and hits a Codebreaker. Liv with ObLiVion but Sonya breaks up the cover with a knee. Sonya clips Raquel on the ground. Liv with an O’Connor Roll for a near fall. Sonya punches Liv and Green with an Unpettiher for a near fall. Liv with a jaw breaker and Sonya misses a knee for a near fall. Green with an Unprettiher followed by a running knee by Sonya for the three count.
Winners and NEW Women’s Tag Team Champions: Chelsea Green and Sonya Deville
– Chelsea and Sonya celebrate in the aisle while Raquel is being checked out by the medical staff.
– Seth Rollins is in the back with Byron Saxton to talk about Finn Balor.

Backstage:
Sonya and Chelsea are in the back and Byron asks them about having a two on one advantage. Sonya says no one wants to hear about Raquel’s fake injury. Green thanks everyone for winning. Sonya says they are going to run the division.
– We take a look back at what happened on Smackdown between Jey Uso and Solo Sikoa.
Backstage:
We go to Seth Rollins with Byron Saxton.
Seth cackles before Byron brings up Finn Balor’s challenge and what Seth is going to do. Seth says he has big plans for the title. SummerSlam is right around the corner. The World Champion deserves a marquee match up. There is a short list for opponents and Finn has earned a place on that list. So have Damian Priest, Drew McIntyre, Gunther…
Finn Balor interrupts and he tells Byron he has this.
Finn tells Seth he is here for his rematch. He does not care how many other contenders there are, the line starts with him. They both know the issues between them are far from over. He tells Seth to talk to Pearce and make the match.
Seth tells Finn he understands where Finn is coming from but Finn has to stop living in the past.
Finn says he is not living in the past, he is living in chaos. That chaos is where he is going to take that title. He is going to hurt Seth, laugh in his face, take his career, and alter it forever.
Seth says the Championship is about more than Finn’s personal vendetta. It is bigger than both of them. If you want to settle the score, we don’t need a match and we can do it right here and right now. Seth tells Finn to take a shot or get out of his face.
Finn gets up and he walks away. Seth apologizes to everyone and then he starts to take off his microphone but Finn attacs Seth and punches him. He leaves him laying and tells him to make the match.
– Viking Rules Match is next, after a commercial.
Alpha Academy vs. The Viking Raiders in a Viking Rules Match
WWE Global Ambassador Titus O’Neil joins Patrick and Graves at ringside for special guest commentary. The ring is decked out with flags and shields and other stuff for this special Viking Rules match.
Otis sends Chad onto Erik and Ivar and the referee starts the match.
Ivar sends Otis into the ring post on the apron. Erik picks up Ivar and slams him onto Otis. Gable lands on his feet on a belly-to-back suplex attempt but Erik with a knee. Gable with an ankle lock but Erik sends Gable off when he rolls through and Gable with a cannonball on Ivar for a near fall. Gable sends Erik into a shield and Otis tells Chad to get the tables. Chad gets a table.and he puts it in the ring. Erik with a forearm to Gable and Ivar with a boot to Otis followed by a cross body against the boat. Ivar goes for a springboard move but Otis stops Erik and Otis catches Ivar and hits a power slam.
We go to commercial.
We are back and Gable gets a near fall on Ivar. Erik with a knee to the back of the head for a near fall. Ivar goes to the turnbuckles for a moonsault on Otis and hits it but Gable breaks up the cover with a moonsault. Gable with a German suplex to Ivar but Erik breaks up the cover. Gable and Erik exchange forearms. Gable misses a clothesline and Erik with a hip lock but Erik misses the knee. Gable with a back heel kick but Erik with a forearm. Gable with an exploder. Gable goes up top for the diving head butt and he hits it for a near fall and Valhalla breaks up the cover Maxxine takes care of Valhalla. Chad tells Maxxine to put the jacket on. As they “thank you” us, Valhalla thanks thanks/spears Maxxine through a table. Gable is sent into a few shields and he falls to the floor.
Otis with a back elbow to Ivar and a clothesline and shoulder tackle to Erik. Otis with an exploder to Erik and a splash to Ivar. Otis with a head butt to Erik followed by a pop up power bomb. Otis with a caterpillar to Ivar. Valhalla slaps Otis on the turnbuckles and then Ivar and Erik hit Ragnarok for the three count.
Winners: The Viking Raiders
– We take a look at what happened during the Miz and Tommaso Ciampa match, with Bronson Reed interfering. Nakamura will face Reed later tonight.
We go to commercial.
Shayna Baszler vs. Nikki Cross
Nikki with forearms and she misses a splash into the corner. Shayna with a Kirifuta Clutch and Nikki taps.
Winner: Shayna Baszler
After the match, Ronda Rousey appears in a sky box and says the crowd goes mild. She says she has been thinking about Ronda’s complaint about waltzing through the back door. Through the front door means training and going through the indies with the best. Through the back door means winning Olympic gold and then coming in being thrown to the wolves.
Ronda says she is the greatest fighter while Shayna is a knockoff of her. Shayna says when it comes to being in this ring, she is a better Ronda Rousey than her. Shayna tells Ronda to bring her ass to the ring to settle this right here and right now. Ronda says no.
Shayna goes through the crowd and up to Ronda but Security gets in the way to stop her.
Rousey tells Baszler she’s gonna do her a favor and finally get her booked on SummerSlam. She tells her “I’ll see you in motor city, bitch.”
Backstage:
We see Jackie Redmond with Ricochet. She asks him about his interaction with Logan Paul on last week’s show. Ricochet says Logan Paul doesn’t get it. He thinks he’s a joke and in Logan’s own social media world, everyone is a joke to him. He says the people aren’t here in State Farm Arena because they post on Instagram. He says in WWE, Logan is the real joke. Ricochet challenges him to meet him on Monday Night Raw in Tampa, FL. next week. He vows to hurt his ego.
We go to commercial.
The Miz TV:
Miz says he beat Tommaso Ciampa last week and he is a winner. Miz says he played in a golf tournament over the weekend. Miz says his guest is on a downward spiral and he introduces Becky Lynch.
Miz brings up that Becky lost to Trish and then lost at Money in the Bank and then she lost last week. Miz asks if she has lost a step.
Becky throws the chairs to the floor and she says she has lost a lot in the last year. She says she lost titles and her mind, but she has not lost a step. She says she knows how his stupid show works so he tells Miz to bring out Trish before he loses his tiny testicles.
Miz tells Becky that was a bit much and he thanks Becky for ruining the surprise. Miz brings out Zoey Stark and Trish Stratus.
Becky says she wants her rematch.
Trish tells Becky to settle down and she is acting like a bratty toddler. She says she thought it was Becky’s daughter in the ring. Why are you so obsessed with her? Trish says she is not fighting Becky because she already won. Zoey says she won too. Trish says since she has come back, she beat Becky, you didn’t win Money in the Bank, and Zoey beat you so they are done with Becky. They are moving on. Trish says there is something that they need so why not thank Trish.
Becky says Trish wants to feel high above everyone. You are about being a psychopath. You beat me at my weakest and you can’t handle her at her strongest. Becky says Trish did nothing for her. Becky says she has been here longer and she has done more than Trish. Becky says to prove it, why not face her or are you only good at running away and hiding behind Zoey?
Trish says she will accept the match, but under a few conditions. First, Becky has to beat Zoey. Second, when Zoey beats Becky, you will need to get on your knees and say Thank You Trish. Third, Becky will need to tattoo Thank You Trish across her chest.
Trish and Zoey attack Becky and Becky fights off Zoey and then connects with forearms. Becky pulls off Trish’s mask and then Becky punches Trish. Becky punches Zoey and then Becky puts on the mask and head butts Zoey.
– Shinsuke Nakamura makes his way to the ring as we go to commercial.
“Big” Bronson Reed vs. Shinsuke Nakamura
Reed misses a clothesline and Nakamura misses a kick. Nakamura with a jumping kick but Reed with a body block. Reed mocks Nakamura with kicks in the corner. Nakamura with a back elbow and an enzuigiri. Nakamura with a sliding kick. Nakamura sends Reed into the ropes and kicks Reed in the back of the head. Nakamura goes to the apron and he misses a knee drop and hits the apron. Reed with a shoulder tackle off the apron. Reed with rolling splash on the floor.
We go to commercial.
We are back and Nakamura with a kick that staggers Reed. Nakamura tells Reed to ‘come on’ and he connects with forearms and kicks. Nakamura with an enzuigiri. Reed with an Irish whip but he misses a splash. Nakamura with a kick and dragon screw for a near fall. Nakamura with a knee to the ribs but Reed gets Nakamura on his shoulders and Reed with a Death Valley Driver for a near fall. Reed goes up top and Nakamura with a kick and a knee to the midsection. Nakamura with a jumping side kick for a near fall. Nakamura sets for Kinshasa but Reed with a cross body.
Tommaso Ciampa attacks Reed and the referee calls for the bell.
Winner: Bronson Reed (by disqualification)
After the match, Ciampa with a running knee to Reed to send him to the floor. Nakamura with a kick to Ciampa and he yells at Ciampa.
– We see Kevin and Sami in the back as we go to commercial.
Backstage:
We are back and Nakamura is ambushed by Byron and he asks about what happened during his match. Nakamura says he is tired of everyone getting involved in his business.
– Next week, Becky Lynch faces Zoey Stark for her chance to get a match against Trish Stratus. Drew McIntyre will be face to face with Gunther. We are told that Logan Paul will be on Raw next week.
Undisputed WWE Tag-Team Championships
Sami Zayn & Kevin Owens (C) vs. Damian Priest & Dominik Mysterio
We see their entrances just to head to another commercial break.
We are back and Seth Rollins runs through the ring and hits a suicide dive on Finn. They fight to the back.
The match starts with all four men in the ring and then Sami chops and punches Priest in the corner. Priest sends Zayn into the turnbuckles and Sami with a back elbow and an elbow off the turnbuckles. Priest with a forearm and he sends Sami into the turnbuckles and follows with punches and kicks. Dom tags in and punches Sami and applies a side head lock. Sami with a punch to the top of the head. Kevin tags in and Sami with a drop toe hold and Kevin with a back senton. Kevin with another back senton and he taunts Priest on the apron. The referee has to hold Priest back. Owens with a Vader Bomb Elbow drop. Sami tags in and Dom backs Sami into the turnbuckles.
Priest tags in and he punches and kicks Sami. Priest with an uppercut. Dom tags n and hits a double sledge off the turnbuckles followed by a punch. Sami with a back body drop. Dom goes to the floor. Sami sends Dom into the announce table and then Rhea has some words for Sami before he gets back in the ring. Dom with a baseball slide to Sami. Priest tags in and he hits a choke slam on the apron.
We go to commercial.
We are back and Priest punches Sami and Sami punches back. Priest stops Sami from making the tag and he backs Sami into the corner. Priest with a forearm. Sami escapes Priest but Priest stops Sami before he can make the tag. Sami with punches but Priest boxes the ears. Sami lands on his feet and Kevin tags in. Kevin punches Dom off the apron and he takes Priest down. Kevin goes to the floor and does a lap hitting clotheslines on Dom and Priest. Owens with a back senton to Priest and a splash off the apron to Dom. Kevin avoids Priest in the corner and Priest hits the ring post. Kevin with a cannonball and he goes for a swanton but Priest gets his knees up.
Dom tags in and hits a frog splash for a near fall. Priest with punches to Sami. Sami sends Priest over the top rope to the floor. Dom sends Sami over the top rope to the floor. Dom sets for the Three Amigos but Kevin escapes and he kicks Dom and then he misses a stunner but hits a pop up power bomb for a near fall that is broken up by Priest. Priest tags in and so does Sami. Sami with a chop and he goes to the ropes for a tornado DDT and he gets a near fall. Sami goes up top but Priest with an uppercut to Sami and a punch to Owens. Priest goes for a spin kick on the turnbuckles but he hits a Frankensteiner for a near fall. Priest with kicks but Sami with a kick. Dom tags in.
Sami sends Priest over the top rope to the floor and Dom with a drop kick to the back. Sami gets out of the ropes and he back drops Dom to the floor. Kevin with a cannonball to Priest off the apron and Sami with a flip dive onto Dom. Rhea sends Kevin into the ring steps and Priest drops Sami on the top rope. Dom with a rollup for a near fall. Rhea argues with the referee.
Liv Morgan pulls Rhea off the apron and Rhea goes for a slam but Liv sends Rhea into the ringside barrier and they go over the ringside barrier. Sami with an exploder into the turnbuckles. Priest stops Sami but Kevin with a kick and stunner. Sami with a Helluva kick for the three count.
Winners: Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn
