Bryan Danielson Challenges Okada – A dream match is brewing for the upcoming AEW x NJPW: Forbidden Door pay-per-view event involving Bryan Danielson.
At Sunday’s NJPW Dominion event, Kazuchika Okada, Tomohiro Ishii, & Hiroshi Tanahashi retained their NEVER Openweight Six-Man Tag Titles over Jon Moxley, Shota Umino, & Claudio Castagnoli when Okada pinned Umino after hitting a rainmaker.
Post-match, Moxley cut a promo about how he had a message from the best wrestler in the world, leading to Danielson appearing on the big screen where he challenged Okada to a match.
Okada was quick to respond as he said the Forbidden Door would be open, indicating the match would take place at the show on June 25.
Danielson was supposed to wrestle Zack Sabre Jr. at last year’s event, but was sidelined with an injury leading to Claudio replacing him, which also marked his AEW debut.
