WWE Teases The Return Of Former Champion To Join The Way – As noted, former NXT faction The Way is back together, as they reunited during a backstage segment on last night’s WWE RAW episode.
This is the first time we’ve seen Johnny Gargano, Candice LeRae, Indi Hartwell and Dexter Lumis all in the same place since they were all in NXT.
During the segment, Chelsea Green and Sonya Deville were going around to different people in the back and trying to get them to sign their petition so they could get a World Tag Team Title shot.
The Way declined to sign and before the segment ended, Gargano said that “he’s coming back soon.” It was not said who this person is but the most likely guess is that he was talking about former 2-time NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa, who has been sidelined with an injury.
Based on that, it sounds like Ciampa will be back on TV soon. Ciampa hasn’t wrestled since last September.
