Gunther defied the odds on the second night of WWE WrestleMania 39.
At WWE WrestleMania 39 Night Two, “The Ring General” defended the WWE Intercontinental Championship against Sheamus and Drew McIntyre. The match marked the latest step of Gunther’s feud with Sheamus; the two stars delivered a memorable match at WWE Clash at the Castle 2022.
The three powerhouses threw everything they had at each other at “The Showcase of the Immortals” and traded near falls. Sheamus nearly scored the win with a Brogue Kick on McIntyre. Likewise, “The Scottish Warrior” got a near fall of his own with a Claymore on Sheamus. McIntyre also took flight and dove onto Sheamus at ringside.
In the end, Sheamus hit another Brogue Kick, but Gunther powerbombed him onto McIntyre. He then clinched the win with a powerbomb to McIntyre.
