Carmelo Hayes Comments On NXT Title Win – While Friday’s Hall of Fame ceremony officially kicked off this weekend’s WrestleMania proceedings, the action truly began at NXT Stand & Deliver.
On a night that saw Indi Hartwell capture her first NXT Women’s Championship and Johnny Gargano close his NXT chapter, the marquee match would see Bron Breakker put his over year-long NXT Championship run on the line against Carmelo Hayes.
Both Breakker and Hayes have long been touted by fans as future stars in WWE, however prior to Saturday only Breakker had been to the top of the NXT mountain.
While the match featured some ref-bump shenanigans towards the end, Hayes would end up defeating Breakker and taking over the mantle of the leader of the next generation of WWE stars.
Now, in his first post since his victory Hayes has summed up his emotions following his long-awaited coronation.
“For so many years I worked so FN hard to get to this level and persevered so much most people will never even understand. This moment I reflected on all that. The HIM ERA”
Hayes’ opponent and former NXT champion Bron Breakker has long been touted for a main roster call-up post WrestleMania.
However, in a promotional poster for the upcoming NXT Battleground event, both Breakker and Hayes are pictured, so perhaps their rivalry isn’t quite finished just yet.
