AEW Announces The Return Of The Owen Hart Cup Tournament

AEW Announces The Return Of The Owen Hart Cup Tournament – The Owen Hart Tournament is returning in 2023, as announced during tonight’s episode of AEW Dynamite by Tony Khan.

In a special segment on Dynamite, Khan announced that the opening ceremonies for the Owen Hart Tournament will be held at AEW Double or Nothing, although it’s unclear as of yet whether or not any matches will be held at the pay-per-view.

As for future tournament matches, Khan said they will be held in Canada, including Forbidden Door and during a show that’s set to take place on July 15, 2023. It’s important to note that July 15 is a Saturday, and AEW has yet to confirm its plans for any potential Saturday shows as of now.

The inaugural Owen Hart Tournament took place in 2022, and featured both a Women’s and Men’s tournament. Britt Baker took home the honors of winning the Women’s tournament, beating Ruby Soho in the Finals. In the Men’s tournament, Adam Cole defeated Samoa Joe in the Finals to win.
