NXT Results (3/21) – This week’s show begins with a look back at what happened last week between Grayson Waller and Johnny Gargano.
We are live from the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, FL, as your hosts for NXT Stand & Deliver, Pretty Deadly, make their way to the ring.
Elton and Kit want everyone to be quiet. Kit says in their first official act as hosts of Stand and Deliver, they are officially wiping last week’s footage from the archives. You will not see Gallus cheating to beat them. You won’t see Bron Breakker and Carmelo Hayes jump them from behind and put them through a table. Elton says the gall, audacity, and gumption of them. Kit says they want to talk about the outfits for STAND and DELIVER.
Elton mentions what Bron and Carmelo were wearing last week. They are main event talent, but main event style?
Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams come out and Trick says he told them to watch their mouths. You interrupted Melo and Bron and that is why they had to order them some table service.
Carmelo says as he was preparing for the biggest match of his career, you had his name in your mouth.
Elton says it wasn’t him, it was Kit.
Trick says you are talking to the future NXT Champion. He tells Elton and Kit to walk the walk.
Elton says there is a breakdown in communication because they speak the King’s English. If you want a match and jeopardize the main event of STAND and DELIVER, they accept.
Trick says it is official. Pretty Deadly against Carmelo Hayes and his partner . . . BRON BREAKKER.
Hayes is not happy about this and Trick says he has Carmelo’s back.
Elton and Kit attack Carmelo and Bron makes his way to the ring and hits back drops on Kit and Elton. Bron press slams Kit onto Elton on the floor.
Bron holds out his hand to help up Hayes. Bron says he doesn’t want anything to happen to Hayes between now and Stand and Deliver.
– Indi Hartwell walks in the back and so does Tiffany Stratton.
We go to commercial.
– We are back and Hayes wants to know what happened. Hayes says they had it without help from Bron. Hayes wonders why did Trick make this match. He doesn’t want to be in a ‘can they co-exist’ situation. Trick says this allows Hayes to see what Bron does in the ring so you can beat him at Stand and Deliver. Trick says he will make sure they win tonight and you are getting the cheat code for Stand and Deliver.
– We take a look at the NXT Women’s Title situation. Roxanne says she will be back, but she does not know when.
Indi Hartwell vs. Tiffany Stratton in an NXT Women’s Ladder Match Qualifying Match
They lock up and Indi with a side head lock and shoulder tackle for a near fall. Indi with a wrist lock and she works on the shoulder. Indi with an arm wringer and Irish whip. Tiffany with a boot and clothesline to Indi for a near fall. Indi with a short arm clothesline and a second one. Tiffany with a kick and a suplex. Tiffany gets a near fall. Tiffany kicks Indi but Indi with a punch. Tiffany with a forearm and hard Irish whip. Indi blocks an Irish whip attempt. Indi with forearms and Tiffany with a kick and Irish whip. Tiffany with a handspring splash into the corner but she misses a boot and Indi with a rollup for a near fall. Indi kicks Tiffany but Tiffany trips Indi on the apron.
We go to commercial.
We are back and Tiffany with a reverse chin lock. Indi with punches and Tiffany with a kick. Indi with a jaw breaker. TIffany puts Indi in the ropes and hits a running hip strike for a near fall. Tiffany goes for a slam but Indi escapes and runs tries to run Tiffany into the corner but Tiffany drops down and Indi hits the turnbuckles. Tiffany with a double stomp for a near fall. Indi with an Irish whip and Tiffany floats over. Indi with a belly-to-back suplex and both are down. Indi with a forearm and Tiffany fires bacck.
They continue the exchange with Indi gaining the advantage. Indi with a kick and forearm followed by an uppercut in the ropes for a near fall. Indi misses a boot and Tiffany with a power slam for a near fall. Tiffany goes to the apron and misses a springboard senton but she rolls through. Indi with a spinebuster for a near fall. Tiffany runs Indi into the corner and Indi with a back elbow. TIffany pulls Indi back to the mat. Tiffany with a Finlay Slam and a Best Moonsault Ever for the three count.
Winner: Tiffany Stratton
– We go to Big Daddy’s where Gallus are playing pool and drinking. The Creeds enter and he says they are surprised to see them here. Mark and Wolfgang say they are always here. They play some pool and Gallus wins. Julius says eight ball was never their game. Darts is their style. We see some darts between the Creeds and Gallus. The Creeds win the first game and they go two out of three. The Creeds sweep. Brutus says they train hard in the dojo but play hard. Julius suggests a tiebreaker and Brutus brings up Stand and Deliver. Julius says they are looking forward to getting their titles back.
They leavve the bar and we see Tony D’Angelo and Channing Lorenzo. They say the next round is on them and they have business to discuss for Stand and Deliver. Julius says this is going to be a long night.
– Wes Lee walks in the back as we go to commercial.
– We are back with Lyra Valkyria running up stairs and through a vacant building. She runs through a glass window and says for Stand and Deliver to get ready to soar.
– Gigi Dolin is with McKenzie in the back. She asks Gigi about the field so far. Gigi says if it wasn’t for Roxanne being hurt but this match wouldn’t have happened. She is not sorry to see Jacy hurt. The last time she was in a ladder match, she won. Tiffany Stratton shows up and says all of the women in the matches’ chances went from possible to Screwed. She says she is going to climb to the top and that is a Tiffany Epiphany.
– Wes Lee is in the ring.
Wes says things have been crazy around here and he says he hopes you are enjoying these open challenges. People ask him why. Whey are you doing it this way? Why are you continuing to roll the dice? Wes says he doesn’t want to be a hypocrite. Wes says he had to give everything to win this title because he didn’t think he would get another chance if he lost. He will give everyone the same opportunity he was given.
Wes says he has a chip on his shoulder. He says he feels he needs to prove to the world and the man in the mirror that he will compete against the best in the world. He needs to prove that he deserves this title and to be the North American Champion.
Wes says you saw some of the fire from the video with him and Shawn Michaels. He has four spots for his opponents at Stand and Deliver.
Dragon Lee makes his way to the ring.
Lee thanks everyone for the reception and he says he is honored to meet Wes. He says he came to NXT for the same reason. To him, Wes is the best, but he loves the chaos. At Stand and Deliver, he wants to be part of that match against Wes.
Wes says he has followed Lee’s career and wondered what it would be like once they tangled. He expected it would take six to eight months to meet in the ring. He tells Lee he has the first spot in the match.
JD McDonagh comes out and he says the Lees are in the ring putting each other over. JD tells Dragon he is giving him a pass this week. He tells Dragon to sit at ringside to watch him take care of Ilja Dragunov. He wants to know what is Wes’ excuse.
Wes wants to know what JD’s excuse will be when Ilja rips you apart.
JD says Wes should be lucky he hasn’t had his eyes on that title because you wouldn’t be standing in this ring.
Ilja Dragunov makes his way to the ring as we go to commercial.
– We see Indi Hartwell pissed off at her loss with footage from Anonymous. Zoey Stark shows up and Indi asks what is she looking at and Zoey says not the next NXT Women’s Champion. Kiana says it looks like Indi isn’t going to Stand and Deliver, but they are.
– Fallon brings up Sebastian and Kiana asks how does she know. Fallon mentions that she was in Kiana’s office and saw the card. She says she is going to tell Brooks about this because he is her family.
Ilja Dragunov vs. JD McDonagh
Ilja and JD with punches as the match starts. They exchange forearms and Ilja with a boot and a jumping kick. Ilja with a knee and forearm to the back. Ilja with a forearm to the back of the head. Ilja with an Irish whip but he misses a knee when JD gets to the apron. JD with a slingshot twisting splash for a near fall. JD with a knee to choke Ilja in the ropes. JD with a short arm clothesline and he gets a near fall.
JD with a suplex and he floats over for a near fall. JD with a kick to the knee and Ilja with a single leg take down but he misses a punch and back fist. Both men with knees and they go down. JD and Ilja slap each other. Ilja ducks a slap and hits a German suplex. Ilja holds on and JD blocks for a moment as Ilja hits a second German suplex. JD tries to escape the grip and JD sends Ilja to the ropes but Ilja with Konstantin Special for a near fall.
Ilja with a running knee into the corner and he comes off the turnbuckles with a knee drop. Ilja goes up top again and JD with a slap and chop. JD sets for a superplex but Ilja with a head butt to send JD to the mat. JD with Iconoclasm pulling Ilja down by the hair. JD sends Ilja throat first into the middle rope.
JD picks up Ilja and hits a back drop driver onto the apron. JD with a forearm to Ilja for a near fall. Ilja with chops. Ilja cannot chop JD because of his hand and JD with a DDT. The referee checks on Ilja. JD with a hard Irish whip. JD with a front face lock and JD with a knee to the midsection. JD stomps on the chest and he works on the neck.
Ilja tries to bridge to escape and JD adds an arm bar. Ilja turns it into a knee bar and JD tries to get to the ropes and he succeeds. JD kicks Ilja in the back. JD with Kawada kicks and a slap but Ilja pops up and misses an enzuigiri. JD with more Kawada kicks. JD goes for Devil Inside but Ilja with a head butt to counter followed by an enzuigiri. Ilja with elbows to JD and he sends JD into the turnbuckles. Ilja with chops as they go around the ring. JD avoids a chop and connects with an elbow. Ilja with more chops. Ilja with Kobashi chops in the corner followed by a waist lock uranage for a near fall.
JD runs Ilja throat first into the ropes and hits a power bomb for a near fall. JD with a German suplex and he holds on to the waist lock. Ilja with an elbow but JD is able to hit another German suplex. Ilja misses a clothesline and JD with a German suplex. Ilja with a round kick to the temple and both men are down. Ilja sets for Torpedo Moscow but JD catches Ilja and goes for a submission but Ilja fights out of the hold. Ilja with punches to JD. JD kicks Ilja away and Ilja with a flying forearm to JD on the mat. They both roll to the floor. Ilja and JD slap each other in front of Dragon Lee and then they fight onto Lee. JD slaps Lee and then Ilja misses JD and gives Lee a back fist.
Lee joins in the fun and the referee calls for the bell.
No Contest
After the match Lee with a somersault senton onto all three men. Officials make their way to ringside to break them up.
– Bron Breakker is in the locker room and Hayes says he didn’t need Bron to make the save. He doesn’t want to do the can they co-exist. Bron says that is how he doesn’t want it to happen. He wants Hayes at his best. He says Trick is always up to something. Hayes says he also wants the best at Stand and Deliver.
We go to commercial.
– We are back and McKenzie is with Wes and she says that chaos follows him everywhere. Wes says JD has been in his face for two weeks so he has the second spot. Ilja Dragunov is considered Europe’s finest so he is in. McKenzie asks who is the final one.
Axiom shows up. Wes says he knows Axiom really wants this but so do others. There is only one way to give everyone a shot. We are going to have a battle royal next week for the final spot. Axiom says all he wanted was an opportunity.
– Johnny Gargano’s music plays and Javier Bernal makes his way to the ring.
Bernal says when that music hit, you thought Johnny Gargano was coming out, but you were wrong. Just like I thought I was going to Stand and Deliver, I was wrong. Do you know who is responsible for that? Johnny Gargano. Who does he think he is? Javier says he is the heart and soul of NXT and he has been doing this for seven years, I mean seven months. He says he would take Big Body Javy over Johnny Wrestling. How many albums has he sold? Combined, they are Triple Crown Champions. He says Shawn made the wrong decision.
Johnny Gargano makes his way to the ring and he is not happy. Johnny punches Bernal and sends him over the top rope to the floor. Gargano sends him into the ringside barrier and ring steps. Johnny sends him into the penalty box.
Johnny gets in the ring and he has something to say.
He says he knows Grayson Waller is somewhere around here. You want to raise the stakes, let’s raise the stakes. I have a contract for a match I know very very well. April 1st, Johnny Gargano versus Grayson Waller in an Unsanctioned Match. No rules, anything goes, and no one is liable for what I do to you.
Waller is on the ShawnTron. Waller says he knows Johnny is upset about last week. Do you want to embarrass yourself on NXT’s biggest stage. Waller says he will not go to the ring. I will sign the contract next week as long as you are banned from the building next week. If I see you, you aren’t getting the match.
Johnny says that is fine. Johnny gives the contract to Vic to give it to Waller next week. Bernal gets back in the ring because he is not very smart and Johnny with a super kick.
– We go to Eddy Thorpe. He says there is more to him than you think. He is proud of his heritage. He will hold his people up and lead them forward. Eddy Thorpe will be on NXT next week.
– McKenzie is with Ivy Nile and she asks her about Tatum. Ivy says it took a while to trust someone like Tatum. She is a little out there and they let her do her own thing. For her to say they were never a team… tonight it is not about her and she has a huge opportunity. If she beats Lyra, she can go to Stand and Deliver and become the new NXT Women’s Champion.
We go to commercial.
– We are back and Hank Walker says everyone’s journey is unique and his has been a wild ride. He says he has been an athlete his entire career. He says he has had some ups and downs over the last few months. He was mentored by Drew Gulak. Then he was left by his mentor. Drew says he came to NXT to find the best of the best and that isn’t Hank Walker. Hank says he is going to work hard to prove Drew wrong. Drew and Charlie are in the locker room and Drew says that is cute. Charlie says Hank has no killer instinct.
Ivy Nile vs. Lyra Valkyria in a Qualifying Match for the NXT Women’s Championship
They lock up and Lyra with a take down and a rollup into a bridge for a near fall. Ivy with a front face lock into an arm bar and a take down into a cross arm breaker for a near fall. Lyra rolls through to escape. Ivy with a single leg take down and Lyra iwth a single leg take down into an ankle lock. Ivy with a cross arm breaker and she kicks Lyra but Lyra escapes. Lyra with a head butt to the midsection followed by a kick to the midsection. Ivy with a kick to the chest and Lyra kicks back. They go back and forth. Both with kicks and both go down.
We see Tatum in the back.
Ivy with a slam for a near fall. Lyra with a kick and a back heel kick. Lyra with more kicks. Ivy with a front face lock and suplex. Ivy with a running thrust kick and she applies the dragon sleeper but Lyra uses the ropes to escape and Lyra with a German suplex. Lyra with a spinning back heel kick for the three count.
Winner: Lyra Valkyria
– Fallon Henley walks in the back and there is a flash and Alba Fyre attacks her. Isla Dawn joins in and Kiana James comes out to make the save. All four women battle in the back as referees pull them apart. Kiana tells Fallon not to tell Brooks and Fallon agrees.
– We are back and Wes Lee is asked who is his pick in the battle royal. He says he is going to sit back and relax. Jinder Mahal shows up and tells Wes he will see him at Stand and Deliver. Dijak tells Wes that he hasn’t forgotten about him. Dabba-Kato says there is no one who will stop him in this battle royal.
– We go to Blake Howard to moderate the debate between The Schism and Chase University.
Rip and Duke go first. They are asked about inclusion. Rip says togetherness has always been a founding principle of the Schism. They take off their masks. Ava presented Duke with the gift of taking off his mask of phony school spirit. They will hold you with open arms. Duke has nothing to say. He says he was given a mask. Duke says they have passion and gave him a sense of belonging. He says he feels good about being included. Andre asks Duke what was that.
Ava and Thea are asked how their group makes them safe. Ava says the world is a harsh place but she is in loving arms. There is love under ths Schism tree. Chase University puts up walls. Thea says she has learned a lot about healing while at Chase University. The Schism tries to brainwash you instead of providing safety.
Joe and Andre are next. They are asked about the preparedness of his students to leave the nest. Joe says his students are not ready. They do not know what way is up.
Tyler Bate interrupts and he asks if he can toss his cap in the ring. Jagger gets up as well. Blake asks about their group. Jagger says Four Roots One Tree.
Tyler says to excel in NXT, it takes more than physical prowess, it takes a big mind open to ideas. With a willingness to learn. Chase University is one of growth. It ignited Thea’s career and revitalized Duke Hudson. The growth of Chase University is the growth of NXT.
Andre thanks Tyler and makes a challenge for Stand and Deliver. Joe says the Dyad beat Chase U and he has beaten Andre in a one on one match. There is nothing left to gain here. Duke says they will put up the school. Winner gets control of Chase University at Stand and Deliver. Joe says they are on.
We go to commercial.
– We are back at the bar and it is a mess. Tony says it has been great but him and Stacks have a thing to take care of. Julius asks if Tony knows a cleaning service. Wolfgang asks why does it have to stop. Julius says they got what they wanted. Mark suggests a Triple Threat Match for the title at Stand and Deliver.
Bron Breakker and Carmelo Hayes vs. Pretty Deadly
Kit with a clothesline to Hayes and he gets a near fall. Kit with a knee drop. Hayes with a drop kick and arm drag into an arm bar. Elton tags in and hits an elbow in the corner. Elton with an uppercut and he kicks Carmelo to the floor. Bron stops Elton and Kit from double teaming Hayes and then they have something to say to Bron as Kit punches Hayes and sends him back into the ring. Kit gets a near fall. Hayes with a snap mare and kick to the chest. Kit with a flapjack to Hayes and Elton tags in and knocks Bron off the apron. Kit and Elton do a Yes Boys pose. Elton and Kit punch Bron and Hayes but they punch back. Bron biels Hayes into Elton and Bron with a rana to Kit. They back into each other and they don’t know if they should shake hands or fist bump.
Hayes and Bron stand together in the ring while Elton and Kit stay on the floor. Bron tags in and Elton hits Bron from behind and connects with a forearm to the back. Elton with a wrist lock and Bron with a reversal. Hayes tags in and hits a double sledge. Hayes with a wrist lock and Bron tags back in. Bron goes up top and hits a double sledge on Elton.
Elton with a side head lock and then Bron catches Elton on a leap frog and hits a power slam. Bron gets Elton on his shoulders and he gets Elton up for a delayed vertical suplex. Kit hits Bron from behind. Kit hot shots Bron and gets a near fall. Kit with an elbow off the turnbuckles for a naer fall. Kit with a running knee to Bron to send him to the apron. Kit with an arm bar.
Kit stretches Bron but Bron tries to escape the hold. Kit with a knee to the back and Elton tries to pull off the turnbuckle pad but Hayes stops him. Hayes tags in and he flips voer Elton and punches Kit. Hayes with a springboard clothesline and a bicycle kick. Hayes with a hanging suplex of Kit onto Elton. Kit with a DDT to Hayes when the referee was out of position. Elton gets a near fall. Elton with a punch and kicks in the corner.
Hayes kicks Elton in the midsection a few times and Kit tags in. They hit a double shoulder tackle followed by a leg drop and splash combination for a near fall. Kit keeps Hayes from making the tag. Kit with a forearm and a running back elbow into the corner. Hayes with a kick to the midsection.
Kit with a rear chin lock. Hayes with punches and Kit with a clothesline. Elton tags in and kicks Hayes. Elton with an elbow drop and he gets a near fall. Elton keeps Hayes from making the tag. Hayes with a forearm but Hayes with a sunset flip for a near fall. Elton with a clothesline for a near fall.
Hayes with a punch and Elton punches back. They continue the exchange and Elton stops Hayes from making the tag. Hayes kicks Elton away and Bron tags in and so does Kit. Bron with punches to both and German suplexes to both men. Kit and Bron exchange punches. Bron with a running clothesline. Bron with a waist lock and Bron with a German suplex that sends Kit to his chest. Bron goes up top for the bulldog and hits it. Bron gets a near fall. Hayes punches Elton and Elton falls into the ropes. Bron almost runs into Hayes and Hayes with a Codebreaker to Kit followed by a spear from Bron. Bron tags in Hayes to let him finish things off. Hayes with Nothing But Net for the three count.
Winners: Carmelo Hayes and Bron Breakker
After the match, Hayes has the title belt and he hands it to Bron but Hayes takes his time letting go of the title belt.
