WWE SmackDown Results (1/20) – This week’s WWE SmackDown begins with a look at what happened last week with Kevin Owens and The Bloodline.
We see vehicles arriving at the building and The Bloodline emerge and Sami is in a good mood. Sami and The Usos are fired up, in a good mood tonight. Zayn offers a fist bump to Reigns but he keeps walking past him. Zayn looks a bit concerned as he watches everyone else enter the building.
We are live from the Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, Michigan, and ready to action, as Sheamus makes his way to the ring for our first match of the night, followed by Drew McIntyre!
Sheamus and Drew McIntyre vs. The Viking Raiders in a First Round Match in the Smackdown Tag Team Title Number One Contender Tournament
Erik and Ivar attack Sheamus and Drew before the bell rings. Erik with an Irish whip to Sheamus and Sheamus clotheslines himself and Erik over the top rope to the floor. Ivar sends Drew into the ring post while Sheamus punches Erik. Sheamus with forearms to Ivar and then he sends Erik into the ringside barrier. Sheamus with a knee to Ivar on the apron and then he sets for the forearms across the chest. Sheamus sends Erik to the apron and connects with many forearms. Sheamus gets Erik on his shoulders and he sets for an Air Raid Crash off the turnbuckles but Erik escapes. Ivar stops Sheamus and Erik with a forearm and Sheamus is sent to the floor.
Ivar tags in and he hits a running cross body against the ringside barrier.
We go to commercial.
We are back and Erik with a neck breaker to Sheamus for a near fall. Erik with an arm bar and chin bar. Sheamus gets to his feet and he punches Erik and connects with an uppercut. Erik with a forearm and that leads to an exchange. Erik with a kick and Ivar tags in. Ivar with a a double sledge to the back. Ivar with a crossface and Sheamus with a uranage back breaker and both men are down. Drew tags in and he connects with clotheslines. Drew escapes a slam and he connects with a shoulder tackle. Drew with an overhead belly-to-belly suplex to Erik followed by neck breakers to Ivar and Erik. Drew sets for Future Shock but Ivar backs Drew into the corner. Drew with an elbow but Ivar with a knee. Drew with a Michinoku Driver for a near fall.
Ivar escapes a slam and he connects with a seated splash in the corner. Erik tags in and he hits a clothesline int the corner followed by a clothesline by Ivar. Erik gets a near fall. Drew with a head butt to Erik and he stops Ivar on the turnbuckles. Drew with a chop and he punches Ivar before setting up for a superplex. Erik crotches Drew and Drew is put in the tree of woe. Sheamus gives Erik an Air Raid Crash and Drew pulls himself up for an overhead belly-to-belly superplex.
We go to commercial.
We are back and Ivar with back elbows in the corner to Drew. Ivar with an Irish whip but Drew with a clothesline out of the corner. Drew with a kick and he sets for Future Shock and hits it. Drew signals for the Claymore and counts down but Drew runs into a Spin Kick of Doom and both men are down. Erik and Sheamus tag in and they exchange punches. Sheamus with a tilt-a-whirl back breaker. Sheamus sets for a Brogue Kick but Valhalla distracts Sheamus but Sheamus with an elbow. Erik with an exploder and Ivar tags in.
Ivar goes up top and hits a splash for a near fall. Erik tags in and then Ivar tags back in. Sheamus with punches to both men but Erik with a punch. Erik with a waist lock and Sheamus with an elbow and he connects with a knee as Ivar comes off the ropes. Drew with a Claymore to Erik and Sheamus with a Brogue Kick for the three count.
Winners: Drew McIntyre and Sheamus (advance to face winner of Hit Row vs Los Lotharios)
The other side of the bracket is Maximum Male Models versus Legado del Fantasma and The Brawling Brutes versus Imperium.
Backstage:
Paul Heyman is reviewing the contract and Sami wants to talk to Roman. Roman tells Sami to sit.
Sami says he knows tonight is a big night for the Bloodline he wanted to make sure everything was cool because the greeting was frosty. Roman says he saw what Sami did last week and he wants to know the truth. Sami says everything is fine and Roman tells him to tell the truth.
Sami felt a bit let down because he was given the chance to take care of Kevin Owens. Sami says he didn’t know that the Usos would be coming out so he felt slighted. Sami mentions that Kevin said that he was being used… but it is all fine.
Roman tells Sami to get out. He says he is not going to do this every week. He says it blows his mind that he has to run his game plan past the Honorary Uce. When does he have to ask Sami for his approval. He tells Sami to find his own Bloodline or Kevin. Paul tells Sami what the door looks like.
– LA Knight walks in the back and we go to commercial.
Backstage:
Raquel Rodriguez says everything is bigger in Texas. In San Antonio, at her first Royal Rumble, she will make it the biggest moment of her career. She says she will be doing it in front of her family and friends to earn a spot at Wrestlemania.
In the Arena:
LA Knight wants to talk to you before his match. He wants someone to help Bray Wyatt figure out who he is. One week, he isn’t Uncle Howdy and then he is Uncle Howdy. He says that Bray asked him who he was and Knight tells us he is LA Knight. He is the one who will make Bray wonder if he shouldn’t have come back. While you have been living check to check on past glory, your checks aren’t worth anything. I will turn off your light next week.
LA Knight vs. Wren Jones
They lock up and We have an image appear on the TitanTron and then the lights go down.
Jones with punches but Knight with a clothesline and BFT for the three count.
Winner: LA Knight
We get the Firefly Fun House video on the TitanTron while Knight throws Jones over the top rope to the floor.
We’re really glad that you’re our friend, and this is a friendship that’ll never ever end… Yowie Wowie, the Firefly FunHouse is back!
We see all of the friendsin the Funhouse appear and then we see Bray making sure the door is fixed, and showing his plumber’s crack. Bray welcomes everyone back to the Firefly Funhouse. He says he is working on the mess. Bray says he has missed you so much. He says he cannot wait to have fun again.
Ramblin’ Rabbit starts to talk like Knight and Abigail tells him to shut the f*** up. Rabbit says he is scared of the dark. Huskus says he loves the dark chocolate.
Bray asks what kind of person names their kid Los Angeles Knight. They never had a chance.
Bray wants to holla at ya playa. Bray says the dark is where things like to hide under your bed and want to eat you. Bray says you should be afraid of the dark.
Uncle Howdy shows up on the teelvision and says I told you so. All you needed was a little push.
Bray says he hopes you are satisfied and you understand. You are the one to open the door and whatever comes through it is your problem. See you at the Royal Rumble. Bray gets out of his trance and waves BYEEE!
We go to commercial.
Hit Row vs. Los Lotarios in a First Round Match in the Smackdown Tag Team Championship Tournament
Humberto and Ashante start things off and Ashante with a wrist lock and reversal. Garza tags in and they hit a double hip toss slam for a near fall. Adonis throws his hat at Garza and hits a drop kick. Dolla tags in and he kicks Garza and biels him across the ring. Garza goes to the floor and Dolla makes his way to the floor after him. Dolla has some words for Cole as he chops Garza against the announce table. Dolla with a waist lock but Humberto tags in. Adonis tags in and Humberto with a forearm and a springboard sunset flip but Adonis rolls through. Humberto with a spinning heel kick and then Garza sends Humberto into Dolla for a drop kick. Garza and Humberto with suicide dives.
B Fab grabs Humberto’s leg and Adonis with a rollup for the three count.
Winners: Hit Row (advance to face Sheamus and Drew McIntyre)
–We take a look at the latest from Cody Rhodes.
We see Cody after the Hell in a Cell match. Cody says no human being would have stopped him from getting in the ring. You knew he needed surgery. We see footage of the surgery and Brandi watching it. The doctor says it has to heal. Cody says the questions start creeping in. How long until he is back? Will he be as good as when he left?
We see Cody starting his rehab. The doctor says Cody does not heal faster than anyone else. Cody says he is trying to respect the nine months prognosis. We see Cody four months after surgery returning to train. Cody says this is where he can make himself bulletproof. Brandi says Cody has put the work in and he feels better than he ever has.
Cody says the question is not if, but when. Cody says he has made it crystal clear what he wants. He says he is back at the Royal Rumble.
We go to commercial.
Backstage:
We are back and Braun Strowman says he made a career out of chucking people around. The Royal Rumble is made for him. Anyone who stands in his way on the Road to Wrestlemania will get these hands.
In the Arena:
Smackdown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair makes her way to the ring.
Charlotte woooos for Detroit and she says it is great to be here. She says it seems that Sonya Deville has a problem with her. She doesn’t know why, but maybe it is because she beat her two weeks ago. If you have a problem with her, you don’t have to attack her from behind or go to Adam Pearce, say it to her face.
Sonya does not come out at first but Charlotte nudges her to come out.
Sonya says she does not care what the people of this city want. She only cares about what she wants and what she deserves. That is a title match. You don’t think she is worthy. Sonya tells everyone that she is a star and when she opens her mouth, you shut yours and listen.
Last week, it took six people to rip her off Charlotte. Are you that arrogant that you don’t see it?
Charlotte says Detroit has made their mind up about Sonya. She says she always said Sonya was a star, but what about the other women? What makes you think you are more special than anybody else. You demand title matches not being owed to you. Are you the arrogant one in the ring? You called your shot and lost and you tapped out.
Charlotte tells Sonya to worry about the Royal Rumble. Charlotte says she will fight Sonya tonight.
Sonya wants to make sure she is hearing this right. Sonya says no. Sonya says there is nothing in this for her, unless you are willing to put your title on the line.
Adam Pearce makes his way to the ring and he tells Sonya… Nothing, becauseSonya attacks Charlotte from behind and leaves the ring. Adam wants to know if Sonya is serious and she tells Adam to wait. Charlotte looks at Sonya as she goes to the back.
Backstage:
Roman Reigns looks troubled and he asks Paul if he can believe this guy.
Heyman tells Roman he has never liked Shmuli since day one, but he appreciates what Roman has said about the Island of Relevancy. Paul asks Roman to take into his ruthless consideration that it is better when signing a contract to face Kevin Owens, that when it comes to Sami Zayn, maybe it is better to have Sami in the castle pissing out than out of the castle pissing in.
We go to commercial.
–We are back with Lacey Evans and the voice over says you can tap out or black out in the Cobra Clutch. You will break their spirits, you will win titles. You will make every woman in the WWE stand in fear of the name Lacey Evans.
The Brawling Brutes vs. Imperium in a First Round Match in the Smackdown Tag Team Championship Tournament
Vinci and Ridge start things off and Ridge with a side head lock but Vinci with one of his own. Ridge does not go down after a shoulder tackle from Vinci. Ridge with a hip toss and he tags in Butch. Butch goes up top and hits a double stomp to the arm. Kaiser tags in and hits a tilt-a-whirl TKO. Butch with a wrist lock and he stomps on the elbow. Butch goes for a Kimura but Vinci tags in and he hits a springboard cross body. Kaiser with a kick and Vinci knocks Ridge off the apron.
Imperium poses and we go to commercial.
We are back and Kaiser keeps Butch from making the tag but he lands on his feet on a belly-to-back suplex and makes the tag to Ridge. Ridge with a few clotheslines and then he hits Snake Eyes and a series of clotheslines. Ridge gets Kaiser up for a power slam. Ridge tries to get Kaiser up but Vinci stops him but Holland gets them both up for a double back drop.
Butch tags in and hits a moonsault off the apron onto Kaiser. Butch and Holland with kicks to Kaiser. Ridge is sent into the ring steps. Kaiser with an O’Connor Roll for a near fall. Butch with an ankle lock and then he takes Kaiser down for a cross arm breaker. Vinci tags in and he hits a double jump moonsault for a near fall. Vinci gets Butch up for the Imperium Bomb but Ridge stops Kaiser. Butch with a rollup for a near fall. Butch with chops to Vinci but Vinci chops back. Butch with a forearm and a tornado DDT and both men are down. Ridge tags in and so does Kaiser. Kaiser with a kick and chop. Kaiser comes off the turnbuckles but Holland with a head butt and overhead belly-to-belly suplex. Butch goes up top and Holland gets Kaiser on his shoulders. Butch kicks Kaiser and Vinci. Kaiser kicks Butch off the apron and Vinci catches Butch and hits a brainbuster on the floor. Vinci tags in and they hit the Imperium Bomb for the three count.
Winners: Imperium (advance to face winner of Maximum Male Models versus Legado del Fantasma)
– We see Sami Zayn in the back and Paul Heyman stops by to talk to him. Paul says Roman would like to see him.

Backstage:
We are back and Shayna Baszler says imagine competing in the Royal Rumble with a broken elbow or a shattered elbow or a broken arm. You better stay away from her. She is not only going to eliminate you, she is going to tear you apart, limb by limb.
– We have a video package for 30 Years of Raw.
Backstage:
Karrion Kross says Scarlett brought to his attention that in one week he will step in the ring with Rey Mysterio. He says he usually gets amped up before a fight. Not this time. Rey can’t decide if he wants to be a family man or the greatest of all time. You cannot be both. I will take him out and then I will take out the other 29 people in the Royal Rumble. Time is running out for everyone. Tick Tock.

Legado del Fantasma vs. Maximum Male Models in a First Round Match in the Smackdown Tag Team Title Tournament
Mansoor with a shoulder tackle to Wilde and a reverse atomic drop. Wilde with a back elbow and an elbow drop. Mansoor sends Wilde to the floor and then Mace sends Cruz over the top rope to the floor. Mace and Mansoor tease a dive to the floor, but they pose instead. Wilde drop kicks Mansoor to the floor and then Cruz and Wilde send Mace to the floor. Cruz and Wilde with planchas. Cruz tags in and kicks Mansoor. Wilde tags in and they go for a double suplex and hit it. Cruz drops Wilde off his shoulders for a splash for a near fall. Mace pulls Mansoor into the corner and he makes the tag.
Mace with a spinning heel kick to Wilde and Cruz is kicked off the apron. Wilde pushes Mace into the turnbuckles where Mansoor is crotched. Wilde with a DDT to Mansoor and Cruz with a missile drop kick to Mace. Wilde and Cruz with the side Russian Leg Sweep and flying kick for the three count.
Winners: Legado del Fantasma (advance to face Ludwig Kaiser and Giovanni Vinci)
Backstage:
We see Roman and Paul in the dressing room and Sami arrives.
Roman tells Sami it is no secret that he has a temper. That is why he puts people in place like Paul to counsel that anger. Roman says he was not hearing Roman. You want clear communication to be part of the plan. You are a perfectionist, like him. You don’t become the GOAT if you don’t think about everything. That is why we get along.
Sami thanks Roman for understanding and he says he was expecting the worst and it means the world to hear what Roman had to say. Roman says sometimes he expects the same amount of love, respect, and loyalty he gives out. Sami says they all love him. Sami says he will put the Bloodline and this family first. Sami tells Roman to tell him what he wants him to do and he will do it.
Roman tells Sami he needs him to find the Usos and make sure the SUVs are ready and that the jet is ready. Roman says him, Paul, and Solo are going to go to the ring to get the contract signed and then they can leave. Roman and Sami fist bump.
– We see the ring getting set up for the contract signing and we go to commercial.
In the Arena:
We are back and next week, Rey Mysterio faces Karrion Kross. Drew McIntyre and Sheamus face Hit Row in the tournament. Imperium faces Legado del Fantasma in the tournament.
Adam Pearce is with the table, chairs, and microphones as he awaits the arrival of Roman Reigns, Solo Sikoa, and Paul Heyman.
Kevin Owens comes from behind and attacks Solo and sends him to the floor. Owens kicks Roman and hits a stunner. Owens with a super kick to Solo and then the Usos pull Kevin out of the ring. Owens sends Jey into the ringside barrier. Owens with a super kick to Jimmy and then to Jey. Owens sends Jey into the ringside barrier.
Owens with a pop up power bomb through the table. Owens sees Paul in the corner and he begs for mercy. Kevin just takes the contract and signs it.
Sami Zayn comes to the ring and gets on the apron. Kevin tosses Sami the contract and then Kevin leaves through the crowd.
We go to credits.
