Dominik Mysterio talks about his relationship with Vince McMahon and Triple H and how they differ as the main creative force in WWE.
Dominik Mysterio entered WWE during a turbulent time for the company and the world as he made his debut in the middle of the global pandemic. Eventually, WWE would return to the road. Still, changes kept coming, as Vince McMahon would retire in the summer of 2022, and creative control was given to Paul “Triple H” Levesque, WWE’s Chief Content Officer.
Speaking on K100 with Konnan & Disco, the young Mysterio detailed his relationship with Vince McMahon, saying they were always professional. Still, he feels he has a different relationship to most modern Superstars as he has known everyone in WWE from a very young age.
“I feel like I had a good relationship with him. It was always very professional. ‘Hi,’ ‘hello,’ and ‘goodbye.’ ‘Hi’ in gorilla after my matches. ‘Thank you,’ and stuff like that. I don’t know. I think it’s a little different for me since I’ve been around them since I was four or five years old,” he said.
Asked if he’s been reprimanded yet, Dominik revealed that he’s getting the reputation of missing some of his flights.
“They have gotten on me because I’ve gotten a reputation for missing some flights,” Mysterio admitted.
Speaking about the world under Triple H, Dom said he is much more approachable than Vince McMahon, but at the end of the day, it’s all the same because he is just looking to have fun in the ring.
“It’s all a very different environment,” said Dom. “Vince wanted a certain thing. With Hunter, he’s out, and if you have a question, he’s out walking around, and you can go up to him. It was very rare when you saw Vince because he was always in his office, but it just depends on how you look at it. For me, it’s all the same, man. I just show up to have some fun.”
