Source Denies Matt Riddle Is Going To Rehab – Matt Riddle was written off WWE television on the December 5 episode of Raw after he was viciously attacked by the Bloodline’s Solo Sikoa. WWE showed that he left the arena in an ambulance.
The injury angle was after an unsuccessful attempt to win the Undisputed Tag Team Championships alongside Kevin Owens.
As previously reported, the attack angle was done as a result of Riddle failing a second drug test this year with the expectation that he would be going to rehab. Riddle previously violated the company’s wellness policy over the summer and that was the reason why his match with Seth Rollins was bumped from SummerSlam to the Clash at the Castle.
In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that “one source close to Riddle denied the story saying he was taking time off because of pressure of going through a divorce.”
WWE has confirmed that Riddle will be off television for six weeks, but hasn’t commented nor confirmed him failing two drug tests and going to rehab.
