SmackDown World Cup And More Set For Next Week's SmackDown

The SmackDown World Cup is right around the corner.

On the November 4 episode of WWE SmackDown, the broadcast team announced that the SmackDown World Cup will begin on the November 11 episode. Few details were given, but Wade Barrett announced that eight top competitors will compete.

Next week’s episode will also feature a title match, as The New Day (Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston) will challenge for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship. The Usos (Jimmy Uso and Jey Uso) will defend the titles against the Brawling Brutes (Ridge Holland and Butch) at WWE Crown Jewel on November 5. The winners will put the titles on the line against The New Day on the following episode of SmackDown. Kingston and Woods confronted The Usos on Friday night, and The Brawling Brutes attacked the champions, though The Bloodline left the duo lying.

Elsewhere on the show, Shinsuke Nakamura will face Santos Escobar. Nakamura joined forces with Hit Row to defeat Escobar and his Legado del Fantasma stablemates on the October 29 episode. On Friday night, Escobar vowed to make an example out of Nakamura when they clash next Friday.

The card is as follows:

  • SmackDown World Cup begins
  • Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship: The Usos or The Brawling Brutes (c) vs. The New Day (Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston)
  • Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Santos Escobar
