WWE Planning An Annual Premium Live Event In The UK?

In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that “There are a lot of PPV changes rumored for 2023 which include the idea of doing one PPV per year from the U.K. to go along with the two from Saudi Arabia. The other change seems to be less gimmick named PPV shows.”

As previously reported, WWE has considered bringing back a gimmick tournament that could be used as a standalone event.

Changes to the schedule come after WWE canceled the planned second edition of its Day 1 premium live event in January.

Roman Reigns retained the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship over Drew McIntyre in the main event of the WWE Clash at the Castle event, the first major PPV event in the UK since 1992.

The show happened in September from Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales. The finish of the main event featured the main roster debut of Roman Reigns’ other cousin, Solo Sikoa, helping out “The Tribal Chief” by getting involved.

This show was something the fans in the UK had requested for years and was a big success for the company. It looks like UK fans may be in for more like it in the future as WWE looks to make changes to its premium live event calendar in 2023.
