According to her husband, Johnny Gargano, the in-ring future of Candice LeRae is uncertain right now.
Johnny Gargano was the latest guest on Out of Character with Ryan Satin to discuss a wide variety of subjects. When asked about the in-ring future of his wife, former WWE NXT Superstar Candice LeRae, Gargano admitted he doesn’t think she’s sure yet.
“I think she’s not sure yet. Obviously, this is a whole new adventure for her being a mom,” Johnny Gargano said. “And she’s extremely happy being a mom. I don’t know, it’s one of those things where we’ll see what happens on a weekly basis, but she is fully content staying at home with that baby. I obviously have realized my position in the house. I think it goes now Quill number one, Pawdme number two, and then I’m probably maybe a third on Candice’s love list right now.
“So I’ll take the number three spot. I’m four in my household, to be fair. It’s Quill, Pawdme, Candice, me. But yeah, I think she’s just very, very happy to be a mom, enjoying it to her extent. Like I said, you never know what happens when he gets older, obviously, but for right now, especially the first bit of his life. She is very, very happy to be with that little dude right now.”
Gargano admitted that he knows wrestling will always be LeRae’s first love, but he also believes that a life-changing moment like becoming a mother can change a person.
“Yes, and obviously like wrestling is always going to be her first love,” Johnny Gargano admitted. “But like we said, it’s a life-changing thing, and it changes you. When you have that fresh baby that you helped make and helped create in the world. But yeah, family is a big thing for her, and I think she’s right now just enjoying every ounce of it.”
LeRae last wrestled on July 6, 2021 at the NXT Great American Bash, teaming with Indi Hartwell in a tag team title loss to Io Shirai & Zoey Stark. LeRae made a few more appearances on WWE programming that year before going on maternity leave. LeRae remained under contract with the company while she was out on leave until her agreement expired in May 2022.
