Dwight Howard is a free agent in the NBA, and he attended the WWE tryouts in Nashville during SummerSlam weekend. Dwight appears to be preparing to enter the world of wrestling. Triple H recently stated that all Dwight Howard needs to do to come to WWE is call.
If Dwight Howard wants to come to WWE, Triple H says all he needs to do is call. Triple H was promoted to the head of WWE creative on July 25th, in addition to his role as executive vice president of talent relations. Later that week, in preparation for SummerSlam, WWE held tryouts in Nashville.
Howard, an eight-time NBA All-Star, made an appearance at the tryouts and delivered a memorable promo. He has also indicated an interest in entering the world of wrestling. In an interview with The Sporting News during the WWE Crown Jewel 2022 news conference, Triple H was asked whether there had been any action on Howard potentially joining WWE.
The Game replied that all Howard had to do was call him, and if he’s prepared to perform the work, they’ll go from there.
I think the ball’s in his court. It’s a funny thing, Dwight, in the conversations we had was like, ‘I really want to do this, I’m serious. I really want to do this.’ But we hear that a lot, and there’s a difference between saying, ‘I wanna do this,’ and putting the grind and doing the work to get there.
[Howard] came by our tryouts in Nashville, was incredibly entertaining, jumping in promos by himself and with others. Incredibly entertaining, really driven to want to do this. It’s just a matter for him of he’s got a lot of things going on. So when he says, ‘Hey, I wanna give this a shot,’ he’s got my phone number. All he’s gotta do is call me, and we’ll see what can happen. If he’s willing to put in the grind and drive that guys like Logan Paul and Bad Bunny and Tyson Fury are willing to put in, then let’s go.
