CM Punk and the Young Bucks had a backstage altercation following the AEW All Out media scrum on Sunday night.
While speaking on today’s Wrestling Observer Radio, Bryan Alvarez reported that there was “an altercation” between the two parties after Punk’s comments during the scrum.
A security guard was seen running out of the scrum shortly after Punk left the podium. AEW President Tony Khan was not informed of the situation until after the scrum. Dave Meltzer described the situation as “a melee.”
As previously reported, Punk had a lot to say during the scrum as he dismissed speculation that he had anything to do with Colt Cabana not being used on AEW television and moved to the ROH promo. He also knocked Hangman Page for his promo before their match at Double or Nothing.
Punk also said that the EVPs have spread lies about him through the media.
It was said that a couple of the AEW talent were told that some very important names were “pissed off and threatening to walk out over.” It was confirmed that the names that Punk targeted were The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega.
Regarding the whole situation possibly being a work, talent within AEW are under the impression that the situation is real and not a work. The heat between Punk and Cabana, and Punk and Page, has been real for a long time.
