AEW Held Talent Meeting Ahead Of Grand Slam – The backstage incidents recently in All Elite Wrestling have actually helped create more interest in the company ahead of their second annual AEW Grand Slam special episode of AEW Dynamite in Arthur Ashe Stadium tonight.
AEW have held three total backstage meetings regarding recent backstage morale, the first being fronted by the executive vice presidents of the company prior to their suspension from the company, with Kenny Omega reportedly being considered the ‘harshest’ on the roster.
AEW then held another meeting following the AEW All Out media scrum fiasco, which was more well received than the previous meeting, being fronted by Chris Jericho, Jon Moxley and Bryan Danielson.
Completing their trilogy, AEW held a third talent meeting prior to tonight’s huge show. Per Fightful Select, it is not yet known who spoke at the meeting, but those in attendance that Fightful spoke to claimed that it was ‘very positive’ and effectively served as a pep talk ahead of a big show. The talent meetings that AEW has held since All Out have generally been received well, per those in attendance that spoke to Fightful.
One long tenured AEW talent said that the past three weeks have felt ‘more laid back’ than the weeks leading up to All Out, with another veteran claiming that the locker room has been the best over the past three weeks than it had been in quite a while.
One AEW name that spoke to Fightful used the term ‘addition by subtraction’, but diddn’t specify who they were referring to specifically in that regard.
