Ric Flair’s Last Match was the second-biggest ever indie show in the US in the modern era.
In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that the early estimates show the event did between 20,000 and 25,000 streaming PPV buys and nearly 4200 more through linear PPV.
This is impressive as the event had no traditional TV promotion. The only other show that didn’t have promotion on national TV that did a bigger number than the Flair event was All In in 2018, which did 55,000 buys.
The show drew 6800 fans for a $448,502 gate, which marks the second-largest behind All In, which did 10,541 paid and $458,525.
The WWE Hall Of Famer teamed with Andrade El Idolo to beat Jeff Jarrett & Jay Lethal in the main event. It was the first time that Flair had wrestled in 11 years. This is supposedly the last match of his successful pro wrestling career.
