NXT UK Champion Tyler Bate Confronts Bron Breakker On Heatwave

NXT Champion Bron Breakker defeated JD McDonagh in the main event of NXT Heatwave, but that wasn’t the end of the night for the champion.

Immediately after, new NXT UK Champion Tyler Bate made his way down to the ring for a stare-down as both champions raised their titles up in the air.

With the increased presence of NXT UK stars on NXT 2.0, it appears that WWE may be setting up the next Worlds Collide event imminently. The next NXT premium live event is reportedly set to go head-to-head with AEW All Out on September 4, but that has yet to be confirmed.

The first Worlds Collide event was held in January 2020 and was headlined by Undisputed Era vs. Imperium.

Bate’s appearance with the title was a spoiler for the the ongoing NXT UK Championship Tournament. Bate previously won the tournament during the recent NXT UK tapings, but the conclusion of the competition has not aired yet.

NXT UK stars Gallus and Blair Davenport also appeared on the show. In the closing moments, broadcaster  Vic Joseph wondered whether worlds were colliding, a clear reference to the Worlds Collide special that pit NXT stars against NXT UK standouts prior to the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.
