Main roster WWE Superstars appeared on tonight’s episode of NXT 2.0 on the USA Network to hype Sunday’s NXT Worlds Collide event.
Finn Balor, who is one of the longest reigning NXT Champions in history, appeared in person to confront Bron Breakker and tell him not to underestimate Tyler but to make sure he does the NXT Championship proud. This was a stark departure from the heel character that Finn Balor has been portraying for several months.
Meanwhile, Tyler Bate was handed an iPad by Fit Finlay and received a FaceTime call from Butch. Of course, when he was known as Pete Dunne, which was the person that ended Tyler Bate’s first run as NXT UK Champion. Butch, who was never referred to by name during the segment, rallied his former rival and told him to win on Sunday for the legacy of NXT UK and for British Strong Style. British Strong Style is the faction featuring those two men as well as Trent Seven. Seven is the man that Tyler defeated to win his second title, that match will actually air on Thursday, September 1 on NXT UK.
Later, WWE Intercontinental Champion, Gunther, who held the NXT UK Title for over 800 days, also encouraged Tyler Bate to succeed, and Ciampa hyped up Breakker.
Shayna Baszler even showed up on tonight’s episode of NXT to tell Mandy rose that she needs to be successful on Sunday, September 4 for everything that she’s been saying for the past year to be worth anything at all.
On the flip side, Alba Fyre told Meiko Satomura that the title she won by beating Fyre herself looks good on her.
Sitting in the middle of this unification equation is Blair Davenport. Davenport comes to this math with no gold but looks to walk away as NXT and NXT UK Women’s Champion. Rhea Ripley understands what it’s like to hold both of those belts and lets Blair Davenport know that her confidence doesn’t have to be all for naught. As long as she doesn’t screw it up that is.
