WWE RAW Results (8/29) – Tonight’s WWE RAW opens live on the USA Network as Vic Joseph welcomes us to the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, PA for the Clash of The Castle go-home episode. Vic is joined at ringside by Corey Graves and Byron Saxton.

AJ Styles and Dolph Ziggler vs. The Judgment Day

We go right to the ring and out first comes AJ Styles for the opener as Mike Rome does the introductions. Dolph Ziggler is out next to another pop for the opener. We get a look back at last week’s show and how WWE Hall of Famer Edge returned home to Toronto to defeat Damian Priest. We also see how Rhea Ripley hit him with a low blow after the match, and Finn Balor added to the attack until WWE Hall of Famer Beth Phoenix made the save. Out next comes The Judgment Day with their dark entrance – Priest and Balor with Ripley.

Dolph and Finn start things off and Finn with a side head lock and shoulder tackle. Finn taunts Styles on the apron and Dolph with a rollup for a near fall followed by a drop kick. AJ tags in and Finn makes sure to tag in Priest. Priest with a kick and he sends AJ into the corner. Priest with kicks and then he knocks Ziggler off the apron with a forearm. AJ with forearms to Priest and AJ with a drop kick. AJ clotheslines Priest over the top rope to the floor. AJ sets for a slingshot forearm and the impact sends Priest into the announce table.

We go to commercial.

We are back and Finn with a reverse chin lock on Ziggler. Dolph with punches but Finn with a knee to the midsection. Dolph with punches. Dolph with a sunset flip but you don’t sunset flip Finn Balor because he rolls through and hits a drop kick. Finn teases a Styles Clash but Ziggler counters a power bomb into a Fameasser. Dolph and Finn tag in AJ and Priest. AJ with punches and kicks followed by a back fist and clothesline. AJ with a sliding clothesline and a splash into the corner. AJ misses a forearm and almost knocks Finn off the apron. Priest with a forearm and AJ knocks Finn off the apron. AJ with a victory roll to counter South of Heaven.

AJ with an ushigoroshi for a near fall. AJ sets for a Styles Clash but Priest escapes. AJ with a calf crusher. Finn pushes the bottom rope to Priest to break the hold. Dolph hits Finn from behind with a forearm. Priest with a back breaker and he tries for Reckoning but AJ escapes and hits an enzuigiri. Ziggler tags in and Priest gives AJ a back body drop. Ziggler with an O’Connor Roll and Finn breaks it up. Priest with South of Heaven for the three count.

Winners: Finn Balor and Damian Priest

We see a vehicle arrive at the building and Edge emerges out of the driver’s side. The Judgment Day return to the ring as we go to commercial.

We are back and now The Judgment Day have the microphones. Rhea tells Edge that they saw that he is here so she invites him to come to the ring. Finn says he is sick and tired of the so called legends. Priest had Edge beat last week and Edge gets the documentary. I beat Rey Mysterio and he got a documentary. Where is our documentary or A&E Special?

Priest says he had Edge beat last week and then we have a referee lose his shoes and not see what happened. We are not in Toronto tonight. You don’t have your friends, family, or the one person who wears the pants in your family with you tonight. Let me finish you tonight. You face your Judgment Day!

Edge makes is way to the ring.

Edge says the three of you made some valid points, but you also made some ridiculous points. Edge says him and Rey did not come back to take his glory. He came back to teach him a lesson. We are not in my home town, we are in Pittsburgh. I don’t have Beth here to have my back. I am comfortable enough with my masculinity to say that both of us wear pants. It is 2022. Beth is a bad ass. He tells Rhea to keep her hands to herself or she will find out why she is the Glamazon.

We went to war last week, and I beat you. Now, I am standing here all by myself while you three are in the ring looking emo because you couldn’t get tickets to the My Chemical Romance concert. You did not listen to me. I didn’t come alone.

Dominik and Rey Mysterio attack The Judgment Day with kendo sticks. Priest sends Dominik into the turnbuckles but Edge clotheslines Priest over the top rope to the floor. Edge punches Priest and they go into the crowd. Rhea confronts Dominik in the ring and Rhea asks Dominik if she would hit a woman. Dominik says he doesn’t want to hit her. Rhea tells Dominik to calm down and she grabs his kendo stick. Dominik lets go and then Edge and Rey come into the ring to stand next to Dominik. Rhea is pulled to the floor by Priest and Balor.

— We take a look at what happened last week with Miz and Dexter Lumis.

Backstage:

Miz and Ciampa were ambushed by Kevin Patrick earlier today and he says that people are surprised Miz is here tonight. He asks for comments about what happened last week. Miz says Lumis isn’t a WWE Superstar so he isn’t talking. Kevin asks about the arrest on Tuesday. Miz says he doesn’t want to talk about it and then he walks away with Ciampa.

— Bianca Belair, Alexa Bliss, and Asuka walk in the back as we go to commercial.

— We see Raquel and Aliyah in the back. Raquel says they are going to become the new WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions.

Bianca Belair, Alexa Bliss, and Asuka vs. Dani Mo, Kay Sparks, and Katie Hart

Bianca and Mo start things off. Sparks tags in and Bianca sends her to the mat. Bianca floats over and slaps her rear end and then flips over Hart and hits a drop kick. Mo and Sparks come in and Asuka and Alexa with drop kicks. Bianca with a suplex to Hart and Alexa tags in and hits a double knee drop and flip senton. Alexa with an arm bar and Asuka tags in. Alexa sends Hart into Asuka’s rear end. Asuka with a hip attack to the head. Hart with punches but Asuka punches back. Hart with forearms but Asuka with a shoulder tackle.

Asuka misses a hip attack into the corner and Mo tags in. Asuka with spinning back fists followed by kicks and forearms. Asuka with a German suplex. Asuka with a sliding kick for a near fall. Asuka with a round kick to Hart and Alexa with a DDT. Alexa with a kick to Sparks and Bianca with a KOD. Asuka with a side Russian leg sweep and she forces Mo to tap out.

Winners: Asuka, Alexa Bliss, and Bianca Belair

After the match, Bianca says that Bayley, Dakota, and Iyo weren’t even going here last month. Alexa says things are going to get real twisted on Saturday. Asuka says none of you are ready for Bianca, Alexa, and Asuka. Bianca says on Saturday they will be taking control.

Backstage:

Miz and Ciampa are in the locker room with Adam Pearce and Ciampa says that Mike has a lot of distractions and a match with Bobby Lashley. Adam tells Miz that whatever Miz needs, the company will provide it for him. Miz says he wants to prepare for his match. Pearce says that Dexter has been released from custody. They didn’t have enough to keep him in jail. Pearce says that Miz not talking has hurt the case against him. Miz says he has nothing to say. Pearce says he is trying to help. Miz asks Pearce if he is trying to help, why is he in a match against Bobby Lashley.

In the Arena:

Kurt Angle makes his way to the ring and he’s in great shape.

Kurt says it is great to be back in his home town of Pittsburgh. On Saturday, it is Clash at the Castle. He tells people they will not want to watch it.

Alpha Academy interrupt and make their way to the ring as we go to commercial.

We are back and Chad Gable points out that Kurt Angle is here. Not only the home town hero, but a hero of his. He says that Kurt’s story resonated with him on his road to the Olympics. Chad mentions that Kurt won an Olympic Gold Medal.

Kurt reminds Chad he did it with a broken freaking neck.

Chad says that Alpha Academy is looking for a new member. He says he was going to do an open challenge, but there is no talent in this group of moronic mouth breathers. Chad says there is an Olympic Hero in the ring, as well as Kurt Angle so he wants people to show respect.

Chad says they can change the world. He says he is offering Kurt acceptance into the Alpha Academy for one night. Chad has Otis present Kurt with the jacket.

Kurt takes the jacket and he tells Chad he thinks he will pass. Kurt tosses the jacket back to Otis and Chad.

Chad goes Wayne Campbell and says exsqueeze me… baking powder. Chad asks Kurt if he turned down the offer.

Kurt says it’s true, it’s damn true. Chad shoooshes Kurt. Kurt asks Chad if he shooooshed him. Chad says he meants Shoooosh please. Kurt tells Chad to shoooosh. They have a Duck Season/Rabbit season shoooshing session.

Chad tells Otis to show Kurt what happens when you turn down an offer from the Academy, but The Street Profits make their way to the ring.

Montez says they are on Raw because of what happened to their bus. Alpha Academy are at the right place at the wrong time. Montez says they are looking for a fight. Chad tells everyone to shoooosh. Chad says they are going to accept the challenge, but they have conditions. After they beat the Street Profits, Kurt joins Alpha Academy and Kurt does everything he says. Montez asks Kurt and Pittsburgh if they can do what they do while Kurt rocks the red, white, and blue. Kurt says it’s true, it’s damn true.

— We are back and they announced The Judgment Day vs. Rey Mysterio and Edge for Clast at the Castle.

The Street Profits vs. Alpha Academy

Otis and Ford start things off and Otis backs Ford into the corner but misses a splash. Ford with a side head lock. Ford with chops and he kicks Otis and Gable. Ford ducks a clothesline but Otis with a pop up World’s Strongest Slam. Gable tags in and he chops Ford in the corner. Chad does the Angle spin in front of Kurt. Gable with an Irish whip and Ford floats over and hits a drop kick. Dawkins tags in and they hit a double shoulder tackle and then Dawkins flips Ford onto Gable. Dawkins gets a near fall. Dawkins with a shoulder tackle. Gable with gutwrench roll and Gable with an arm drag. Dawkins with an arm drag of his own. Gable is sent to the floor and then Ford with an enzuigiri to Otis. Dawkins with a drop kick that sends Otis to the floor. Dawkins with a plancha.

Dawkins gets a near fall. Gable puts Dawkins in the ropes and hits a dragon screw. Gable with a knee drop to the injured leg and he hyperextends the leg. Chad keeps Dawkins from making the tag but Gable with a back body drop and Ford tags in. Ford with a back body drop and he knocks Otis off the apron. Ford with a clothesline and a belly-to-back suplex. Ford with a standing moonsault for a near fall. Ford goes up top and Otis stops him. Ford kicks Otis away. Gable with a belly-to-back superplex and both men are down.
We go to commercial.

We are back and Ford blocks an Olympic slam. Gable keeps Ford from making the tag but Ford with a DDT. Otis and Dawkins tag in and Dawkins with a back elbow but Otis stays on his feet and Otis with a spinning elbow. Otis with a shoulder tackle to Ford. Otis with a World’s Strongest Slam for a near fall. Otis goes over the top rope when Ford pulls down the ropes. Dawkins with a victory roll for a near fall. Dawkins with a twisting splash into the corner followed by Silencer for a near fall. Ford tags in and Dawkins gets Gable on his shoulders but Gable escapes and hits a German suplex. Ford with a cross body and Gable rolls over and gets a near fall. Gable sends Ford to the apron and Ford with a punch and shoulder. Ford goes for a slingshot move and Gable catches Ford and hits a Northern Lights suplex for a near fall.

Otis tags in and connects with a forearm and then he slingshots Ford into the corner but Ford lands on the turnbuckles. Ford goes for a sunset flip but Gable makes the blind tag. Otis sends Ford to the mat and Gable with a diving head butt but Dawkins breaks up the cover. Otis and Dawkins go for clotheslines and both go down and roll to the floor. The straps come down and Gable applies an ankle lock. Ford fights through the pain and he is able to get back to his eet and Gable flips Ford. Ford with a drop toe hold and ankle lock on Gable. Ford grapevines the leg and Otis with a splash to make the save before Gable can tap.

Otis tells Angle to join the Academy but Dawkins knocks Otis over the announce table. Ford with an inside cradle for a near fall. Ford makes the tag and he lands on his feet on Chaos Theory. Dawkins sends Gable into a German suplex from Ford. Ford with a Seven Star Frog Splash for the three count.

Winners: The Street Profits

After the match, The Street Profits share a drink with Kurt but Kurt spits out what they are drinking. Kurt gets some milk and he gives it to Angelo and Montez.

— Jimmy Smith mentions that precautions have been taken for the Seth Rollins/Riddle face to face. We see them in separate rooms as we go to commercial.

— We are back with a look at Riddle earlier today in the parking lot when he was confronted by Seth Rollins. We see them being separated.

Riddle and Seth Rollins Interview:

Corey Graves is in the back to talk to Riddle and ‘The Cackler’ Seth Rollins.

Seth says Riddle was creeping by his bus and Riddle says he was on the phone.

Corey tries to move things on to where this all started.

Seth says Corey has it all wrong. Riddle has been a thorn in his side since Money in the Bank. Seth says he is on top while Riddle is on the way up. Seth says this is his time and then he cackles.

Riddle says that Seth is afraid of him and he is worried that Riddle will embarrass him like Roman and Cody did.

Seth says nobody likes Riddle. They can’t stand the way you talk. When he finishes the job, it won’t just be for him, it will be for everyone. Seth cackles some more.

Riddle says it will take a lot more to get rid of him.

Seth tells Riddle to watch his words. He says it means putting him on the shelf next to Cody Rhodes, that is what he will do. Seth says he will be moving on to the Undisputed Championship and there is nothing Riddle can do.

Corey asks Seth what can we expect the first time they meet on a Pay per view.

Seth says he will steal the show. He will stomp Riddle’s head into the mat one more time to show who the man really is.

Riddle says he will prove that there is only one man in their marriage and that it is Becky.

— Miz and Ciampa walk in the back and they walk past Dexter Lumis. Miz turns around because of who he saw but it is a non-descript security member.

We go to commercial.

— We are back with footage after the interview ended. Rollins tells Riddle they can talk about his family since he doesn’t have one. Your wife got divorced and took your kids. Riddle wants to know where Seth is and he wants to f*** Seth up for what he said.

The Miz vs. Bobby Lashley

Lashley with a shoulder tackle and clothesline into the corner. Lashley with back elbows and a forearm in the corner. Lashley blocks a kick and then Lashley with a reverse atomic drop. Lashley rips Miz’ shirt and sets for a delayed vertical suplex. Lashley sends Miz to the floor. Miz almost punches Ciampa because he is paranoid about Lumis. Lashley with a clothesline on the floor.

We go to commercial.

We are back and Lashley with a Dominator and Miz rolls to the floor. Lashley gets Miz up on his shoulders but Ciampa hangs on to the ring post to stop Lashley. Miz tries to send Lashley into the ring post but Lashley stops short. Miz with a drop kick through the ropes and then he sends Lashley into the announce table and ring steps. Miz and Ciampa applaud what Miz has done. Miz chokes Lashley in the ropes and connects with a boot to the head. Miz gets a near fall. Miz with knees to Lashley. Miz with an Awesome Clothesline and then he goes up top for a double sledge but he takes too long and Lashley catches Miz and hits a flatliner.

Lashley with shoulder tackles and an overhead belly-to-belly suplex. Lashley with shoulders into the corner. Lashley gets Miz up for a slam but Miz gets to his feet. Lashley with a choke slam and he sets for a spear. Ciampa pulls Miz to the floor. Lashley goes after Ciampa for a moment and Miz gets back in the ring. The referee stops Miz from hitting Lashley with the card but Ciampa with a knee. Miz with a DDT and he gets a near fall. Miz sets for a Skull Crushing Finale but Miz sees Dexter at the top of the aisle (nowhere near the ring). Ciampa tells Miz to focus on the match and Miz tells Ciampa to go after Dexter but he cannot see him. Lashley with a full nelson and Miz taps out.

Winner: Bobby Lashley

Backstage:

Edge shows up in the locker room with Kurt Angle and he says he has some pictures for Kurt to look at and Kurt says he isn’t going to be suckered again. The first photo didn’t have anything but the others have messages on them without Kurt knowing. Kurt walks over to Dominik and Rey and then Kurt sees that Edge put stuff on the photos.

Dominik tells Rey he thought it would be a family thing at Clash at the Castle. Rey says Edge is like family. He says he wants the experience. Rey says he wants Dominik in their corner. Dominik says he will be there for Edge and Rey.

— Sami Zayn, Jimmy Uso, and Jey Uso walk in the back as we go to commercial.

In the Arena:

The Usos and Sami Zayn make their way to the ring. Jey says the Bloodline is now in your city. Jimmy says Friday will be 730 days that your Tribal Chief has been Universal Champion. They are on Raw to let everyone know it will be a big celebration for your Tribal Chief.

Sami says something that will make the celebration bigger is that Roman has named him master of ceremonies for the night. Jey does not look happy so Sami mentions that you are in the presence of the most dominant tag team in WWE history. Jey says nothing changes. Jimmy says it means the Bloodline runs both shows. Jey says Roman will beat Drew at Clash at the Castle.

Kevin Owens’ music plays and he comes out to the stage.

Kevin says the Bloodline does not run anything on Monday because Raw is still the Kevin Owens Show. Kevin says he is glad that you are here. Kevin says he gets to remind them to tell their boss that Roman still owes him one.

Jey wants to know if this is Sami’s boy. Kevin asks Sami if he is his boy. Sami says technically yes. Jey tells Sami to get Kevin before he does. Sami says he will explain it to Kevin. Sami says Roman doesn’t owe him or anyone anything ever. That is how it is.

Kevin tells Sami that he didn’t think Sami could find a way to look stupider than when he grew his hair out, but he has done it every week hanging out with them and the way they treat him. Kevin says he is sad to see that Sami is one of the best performers of all time. Now you are the Bloodine’s personal clown. Kevin says he considers Sami to be like a brother. He tells Sami to look at himself in the mirror.

Sami says that Kevin is like everyone else because the Bloodline likes him. He says Jimmy likes him and they do a hand shake combination. Sami says that Jey . . . they are working on it. Roman likes him. That is why he was invited into his dressing room. It was the four of them who attacked Drew McIntyre.

Jey tells Kevin to back up and turn around or they will drop him like they did to Drew.

Kevin turns around and then he walks to the apron. He says he does not care what they did to Drew, but he remembers what Jey did to him. It is because of Jey and Paul Heyman that he did not beat Roman 18 months ago. You can celebrate two years of having your head shoved up your cousin’s ass.

Sami tries to hold Jey back. He tells Kevin he is trying to keep the peace and he doesn’t want a problem. He says that Kevin is begging for Jey to kick his ass.

Kevin tells Jey this is when they drop the mics and get a referee so they can fight.

Kevin Owens versus Jey Uso (with Jimmy Uso and Sami Zayn)

They lock up and go around the ring. Owens with a chop and forearm followed by a punch and kicks. Jey with a punch. Owens with punches and chops to Jey. Jey falls to the floor. Owens goes to the floor and Jey with a chop and he sends Owens into the ring post. Owens Irish whips Jey into the ring steps. They return to the ring and Owens with punches to Jey in the corner. Jey with a hard Irish whip. Jey with punches in the corner. Jey with an Irish whip with authority. Jey misses a splash in the corner and Owens with a cannonball.

Owens goes after Jey on the floor and he sets for an apron power bomb but Jimmy distracts Owens. Jey with a super kick and Samoan drop on the ring steps.

Kevin Owens vs. Jey Uso

They lock up and go around the ring. Owens with a chop and forearm followed by a punch and kicks. Jey with a punch. Owens with punches and chops to Jey. Jey falls to the floor. Owens goes to the floor and Jey with a chop and he sends Owens into the ring post. Owens Irish whips Jey into the ring steps. They return to the ring and Owens with punches to Jey in the corner. Jey with a hard Irish whip. Jey with punches in the corner. Jey with an Irish whip with authority. Jey misses a splash in the corner and Owens with a cannonball.

Owens goes after Jey on the floor and he sets for an apron power bomb but Jimmy distracts Owens. Jey with a super kick and Samoan drop on the ring steps.

We go to commercial.

We are back and Jey sets for a superplex but Kevin blocks it and he punches Jey Owens with a super fisherman’s buster. Owens goes up top but Jey recovers and punches Owens. Jey with a forearm but Owens with punches on the turnbuckles. Jey punches back. Owens with a head butt and elbow to knock Jey to the mat. Owens with a swanton for a near fall. Owens with a kick but Jey avoids a stunner. Owens blocks a super kick and hits one of his own. Jey floats over on a pop up power bomb attempt. Jey with a super kick and frog splash for a near fall.

Jey pulls Owens into position and Jey goes up top again. Owens gets his knees up and gets an inside cradle. Owens with a super kick and he super kicks Jimmy off the apron. Owens with a frog splash for a near fall. Owens sets for an apron power bomb but Sami walks over to him. Kevin tells Sami to hit him and Jey gets in the ring and hits a suicide dive. Jey sends Kevin back into the ring. Jey tells Sami to get a chair. The referee stops Jimmy from using the chair and Sami holds the chair but cannot use it on Kevin when Jey has Kevin in the ropes. Jimmy tells Sami what the plan is. Meanwhile, Owens with a kick and stunner for the three count.

Winner: Kevin Owens

Backstage:

We go to the Bayley Bunch. Bayley says Bianca has been holding the division back since Wrestlemania. They will take care of you and they will be in control of the division. Dakota says they are going to take over the entire company. They will prove they are in control. Raquel and Aliyah have beaten some of the best but it will hurt more when we send them back to Smackdown. Iyo says they wil be the new tag team champions.

Backstage:

Miz leaves the building and Ciampa chases after him. Miz says he is good and Ciampa walks away. Kevin Patrick ambushes Miz to ask about Dexter Lumis and he asks him what did he see during his match with Bobby Lashley. Miz drives away and Dexter is in the back.

We go to commercial.

Earlier Today:

We are back and Johnny Gargano is asked about his return.

He says last week gave him goosebumps. He says this was the longest he was out of the ring since he was 8. He says he was excited to see Theory. He is like family to him. Johnny says he is happy for Theory’s success. Theory has the genetic gifts that Johnny didn’t have. Given his gifts and who he knows, he didn’t have to start from the bottom.

Theory shows up and wants to talk to Johnny. Theory asks Johnny why didn’t he call when he won the US Title or won Money in the Bank.

Johnny says he was a little busy. Theory says it is all about excuses for Johnny. Maybe you didn’t call because you were jealous. You were sitting on the couch playing stay at home dad. You watched him become the US Champion and win Money in the Bank. Theory says he expected better but he realizes it is lonely at the top. Theory tells Johnny good luck because he is swimming with sharks now.

— We have a video package for the WWE Women’s Tag Title Tournament Finals.

IYO SKY and Dakota Kai vs. Raquel Rodriguez and Aliyah

Iyo with a shoulder tackle to Aliyah and she gets a near fall with a jackknife cover. Aliyah and Iyo alternate near falls. Raquel tags in. Raquel with a boot. Iyo with a victory roll and double stomp. Dakota tags in and hits a scorpion kick followed by a missile drop kick. Dakota gets a near fall.

We see Doudrop, Tamina, Dana Brooke, and Nikki A.S.H. watching MONITOR in BACK.

Aliyah with a cross body and a matrix. Dakota goes to the floor and Raquel tags in.Aliyah misses a baseball slide and Iyo with a kick and Dakota sends Aliyah into the ring steps. Dakota is sent to the apron. Iyo with a Shotei and Dakota with a kick. Iyo with a kick to Aliyah.

Raquel beats the referee’s count as we go to commercial.

We are back and Dakota with a boot to Raquel and Iyo trips Raquel. Iyo with a kick and she gets a near fall. Kai tags in and she hits a spike head scissors for a near fall. Dakota kicks Raquel in the head. Raquel blocks a Codebreaker. Iyo tags in and Raquel sends Iyo into Dakota. Raquel with a head butt to Iyo and a punch to Dakota. Raquel with kicks to Iyo and Dakota followed by splashes into the corner. Raquel with a twisting elbow drop off the turnbuckles for a near fall. Raquel sets for a power bomb but Iyo counters with a Code Red for a near fall.

Iyo with forearms but Raquel with a clothesline. Raquel sets for the Tejana Bomb but Bayley trips Raquel while Dakota distracts the referee. Iyo with a double stomp. Dakota with a running boot. Iyo with a moonsault for a near fall.

Bianca, Alexa, and Asuka chase Bayley through the crowd. Aliyah with a blind tag and she falls off the apron. Kai with KAIropractor. Iyo with a crucifix bomb and Aliyah with a rollup on Kai for the three count.

Winners and NEW Champions: Aliyah and Raquel Rodriguez

After the match, Kai and SKY quickly retreat from the ring as the music hits and the new champions begin to celebrate. Belair, Asuka and Bliss come back to ringside to applaud Rodriguez and Aliyah as they begin their celebration, then they join them in the middle of the ring as we go to replays. Bayley, Kai and SKY look shocked while standing on the entrance-way now. The pyro goes off in the arena as Rodriguez and Aliyah celebrate with Asuka, Belair and Bliss.
