NXT 2.0 Results (8/02) – Tonight’s WWE NXT 2.0 episode opens up live from the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida as Vic Joseph welcomes us. He’s joined at ringside by Wade Barrett. The crowd is fired up and the vacant NXT Women’s Tag Team Titles are on display.
Fatal 4 Way Elimination Match for the Vacant NXT Women’s Tag Team Titles: Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne vs. Katana Chance and Kayden Carter vs. Ivy Nile and Tatum Paxley vs. Valentina Feroz and Yulisa Leon
We go right to the ring and out first comes Katana Chance and Kayden Carter for this match to crown new NXT Women’s Tag Team Champion. Alicia Taylor does the introductions as Yulisa Leon and Valentina Feroz are out next, followed by Ivy Nile and Tatum Paxley representing The Diamond Mine. Toxic Attraction’s Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne are out next.
Carter and Paxley start things off and go to a stalemate. Jacy tags herself in to replace Carter and they lock up. Jacy with a chop and side head lock. Tatum with a shoulder tackle and Gigi tags in. GIgi hits Tatum from ehind and Gigi sends Tatum to the mat and Jacy with a back senton. Gigi gets a near fall. Gigi blocks a kick and Tatum lands on her feet when she is flipped. Tatum with a drop kick. Nile tags in and connects with forearms. Nile with a clothesline and Tatum tags in and they hit a double shoulder tackle and Tatum gets a near fall. Carter tags in and backs Tatum into the corner. Feroz tags in and arm drags Carter. Feroz with a head scissots and take down. Leon tags in and Feroz with a snap mare and Feroz with a splash onto Carter. Dolin and Jayne are knocked off the apron.
Leon with a near fall. Feroz tags in and applies a waist lock. Carter with a double leg take down and cartwheel into a super kick. Carter knocks Tatum off the apron. Chance with a cross body to Tatum and Ivy after Ivy pulls Carter to the floor. Leon presses Feroz onto the four on the floor. Leon with a flip dive onto everyone on the floor, including her tag team partner. Leon gets a near fall on Carter. Tatum tags in and Leon with a slam and leg drop to the arm. Leon with a suplex to Tatum. Leon with forearms. Feroz tags in and hits a cross body on a suplex by Leon and she gets a near fall. Ivy tags in and punches Feroz to pin her.
Valentina Feroz and Yulisa Leon eliminated
Dolin with a rollup on Ivy for a near fall. Jacy tags in and kicks Ivy and gets a near fall. Jayne with punches. Ivy with kicks to Jayne and a rollup for a near fall. Ivy with an enzuigiri to Jayne and Tatum tags in. Jacy tags Chance in and Chance with a kick and cross body but Tatum catches Chance. Chance goes for a sunset flip but Tatum blocks it and hits a suplex for a near fall. Ivy tags in and Tatum with a drop kick followed by a flyiing forearm off Tatum’s back. Ivy with a running kick into the corner for a near fall. Tatum tags in and Chance escapes a suplex. Chance springboards over Tatum and drives Tatum’s head into the mat with a head scissors. Chance gets a near fall.
Carter tags in and Chance with a Codebreaker. Jayne tags in and pins Paxley.
Tatum Paxley and Ivy Nile eliminated
All four women are in the ring and they pair off. GIgi with a bronco buster while Jacy hits a cannonball. Jacy gets Carter up but Carter escapes. Carter with a rollup and she misses a thrust kick. Jayne with a rollup for a near fall. Jayne with a forearm and Gigi tags in. Jacy with a Codebreaker and Gigi with a clothesline for a near fall. Carter with a victory roll into a thrust kick for a near fall. Carter wtih forearms and Katana drops Gigi on the top rope and Carter hits a German suplex. Chance gets a near fall. Dolin with a belly-to-back suplex. Jayne tags in and she knocks Carter off the apron. They hit a high low combination but Carter breaks up the cover.
All four women are down. Jayne has some words for Chance and they exchange chops and forearms. Jayne with a knee to the midsection and Chance with Sole Food. Gigi pulls Carter to the floor and Chance with a cross body onto Gigi on the floor. Jayne with an O’Connor Roll and Chance kicks Jayne in the ropes. Chance tags in and hits a 450 splash while Carter hits the neck breaker for the three count.
Winners and NEW Women’s Tag Team Champions: Kayden Carter and Katana Chance
–The NXT UK Tag Team Chamipons and Fallon Henley are with McKenzie. She asks what is next and Brooks says he is waiting for his first. Josh says they are ready to get back on the horse again. Joe Gacy shows up and he says that they have a lot to be proud of. Joe says that you are a second generation superstar while Cameron Grimes does not have that luxury. They say if you are lost, they can provide a road map. Brooks has some words for Joe and Joe says he will welcome Brooks into the ring when he has a special message for Cameron Grimes.
— Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams are in the ring. Trick says life has been amazing for them since the Great American Bash. He says they are here to celebrate and Melobrate because it is Carmelo’s birthday. Carmelo says the move for tonight is an open challenge for THE A Championship. The next person to get in this ring can step up and get stepped on.
Giovanni Vinci makes his way to the ring but Nathan Frazer rushes and beats Vinci to the ring.
Nathan Frazer vs. Carmelo Hayes for the North American Championship
They lock up and Frazer with a side head lock and take down. Frazer with a head scissors and Hayes escapes and gets a near fall with a jackknife cover. Frazer with a jackknife cover for a near fall. Hayes pie faces Frazer and Frazer slaps Hayes. Frazer with a drop kick and he slides under Hayes and pulls Hayes into the ring post in an uncomfortable place. Hayes grabs Frazer and goes for a springboard leg drop in the ropes but Frazer moves. Hayes with a face buster and a springboard leg drop for a near fall. Hayes with a suplex. Hayes with a chop and snap mare. Frazer with a jaw breaker.
Frazer with a springboard moonsault and lands on his feet when Hayes hits a springboard clothesline for a near fall. Hayes with punches. Frazer lands on his feet on a suplex and Hayes with a victory roll for a near fall. Frazer with a flatliiner into the turnbuckles and Hayes goes to the floor. Frazer with punches and chops. Frazer with a flying forearm or two. Frazer with a Thesz press and punches. Frazer goes up top and sets for a Phoenix Splash but rolls through when Hayes moves. Frazer with a super kick for a near fall.
Hayes goes to the floor and Frazer with a suicide dive and the impact knocks a drink onto Vinci. Williams distracts the referee and Vinci pushes Frazer off the turnbuckles. Hayes with Nothing but Net for the three count.
Winner: Carmelo Hayes
After the match, Vinci poses with a fallen Frazer.
— We see JD McDonagh and Bron Breakker walking in the back as we go to commercial.
— We have a video for Solo Sikoa.
— We are back and we see Wade Barrett in the ring with a contract and the two men in the NXT Men’s Championship match. There is security standing on the apron.
Wade asks JD about his time in NXT. JD says he is very comfortable and he wants to talk about Heatwave. He says he has never been in the ring with anyone like Bron who has the intensity and passion. He says that is a source of fear for some, but for me it is a stimulant. I see a fire in you and I will stomp it out. People view you in awe but why? All I see is a road map to the pain I can inflict. This ring is my operating theatre. I will rip the muscles off the bone. The only sound sweeter than your screams of agony will be Alicia announce me as the new champion.
Wade asks Bron about his comments about having a giant target on him as the champ. How will you deal with an opponent who has nothing but bad intent. Bron says JD is special. He says he studied his NXT UK career. He says that JD might be the smartest superstar he has been in the ring with. You know not to challenge my speed or strength, but my mind. Everyone has a plan, until I break them in half. You can call this whatever you want, but when the title is on the line, I am an animal. I am glad you like pain because you will be in a lot of it at Heatwave.
JD says Bron believes every word that comes out of his mouth and JD says he does too. What Bron says will come true. The difference between you and me is that you like to endure pain, but I welcome it.
Wade has the official contract for the match at Heatwave.
JD refuses to sign the contract but he saw some apprehension and fear on Bron’s face so he wants the champion to sign first. Bron tells Wade to give him the contract and he signs it. JD tells Bron that this summit won’t end in violence, but to show you how serious I am, it will end in blood. JD signs the contract in his blood. JD offers his hand and Bron refuses and holds up the title belt.
— We see the Creeds in the dojo and Apollo Crews shows up. Crews wishes them luck and he says that he is a big fan of theirs. Julius says he is a fan of Crews and he invites him any time. Crews tells Julius to watch his back. Julius says it is about retaining the titles. Crews tells them to keep their eyes open and kick some ass. Damon shows up and he says that Strong is running late but he will be out there for the match.
— Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne aer in the back and they are still angry they lost. Mandy says she knew they were going to cheat. Mandy yells at McKenzie for showing up at the worst possible time.
Mandy Rose vs. Sarray
They lock up and Mandy with a waist lock take down. Mandy has some words for Sarray but Sarray with a wrist lock. Mandy with a take down but Sarray with a wrist lock. Mandy with a snap mare and Sarray with a wrist lock. Mandy with a wrist lock and knee. Sarray with a cross body for a near fall. Sarray with a rollup and double stomp. Sarray with a running hip into the corner and she goes to the turnbuckles. Sarray is caught by Mandy and Mandy punches Sarray. Mandy gets a near fall. Sarray with a sunset flip for a near fall and a drop kick. Sarray sets for the running drop kick against the ropes but Mandy goes to the floor. Mandy blocks a drop kick through the ropes and Mandy pulls Sarray into the ropes and gets a near fall.
Mandy with forearms in the corner followed by kicks. Mandy gets a near fall. Sarray with a rollup for a near fall. Mandy with a gourdbuster for a near fall. Mandy with more near falls and she slams Sarray’s head into the mat. Mandy with a drop kick. Sarray with forearms. Mandy with a kick to Sarray. Sarray with a springboard arm drag and a drop toe hold. Sarray goes to the turnbuckles and hits a missile drop kick. Sarray with a fisherman’s buster for a near fall. Mandy catches Sarray out of the corner and hits a spinebuster for a near fall.
Mandy with a bicycle kick for the three count.
Winner: Mandy Rose
After the match, Mandy gets a chair from ringside and brings it into the ring. Mandy hits Sarray in the knee with the chair. Mandy puts a chair around Sarray’s leg and Stark comes to teh ring and she clotheslines Mandy and hits a super kick. Mandy is able to get out of the ring.
— Tiffany Stratton says what sets her apart is her athleticism. It keeps her separate from losers like Wendy Choo. I work on it every day. That is why everyone in NXT is obsessed with her. I couldn’t stand losing the battle royal. Tiffany Stratton and loser do not belong in the same sentence. How could the other women be satisfied with losing.
We go to commercial.
— McKenzie is with Axiom. Axiom says he is proud to be here and the timing is right to be in NXT. Duke Hudson shows up and he says there are a lot of changes in NXT. It is anyone’s ball game, but not yours. You are undersized and undeserving. Duke says he is 6 foot 5 and 265 pounds.
Axiom says he is not afraid of Duke. Duke calls him a nerd and slaps Axiom. They fight through the Performance Center. They fight into the arena and Duke with punches. Axiom chops and punches Duke. Duke runs Axiom into the apron. Duke sends Axiom into the ring and he kicks Axiom in the head many times. Duke with a spinning uranage.
Duke takes the mic and he says that is why you cannot believe in your heroes. They will always let you down. Axiom tells Duke that things have changed but Duke is wrong. He says he can prove it, right here, right now.
Axiom vs. Duke Hudson
Hudon puts Axiom on the turnbuckles and kicks him to the floor. They return to the ring and Axiom kicks Duke in the leg. Axiom with a springboard kick to the thigh. Axiom charges into the corner and Duke with a uranage. Duke with elbow drops. Duke goes for a Razor’s Edge but Axiom counter with a head scissors. Axiom with a victory roll for the three count.
Winner: Axiom
— Wes Lee is with McKenzie. He says the odds have gotten better for him. He does not like that Trick Williams thinks he is the second coming of Muhammad Ali. Lee says Ali is a legend while Trick is a legend in his own mind. Ali inspires millions while Trick insults millions. Let’s get the best of both worlds next week. Trick can bring his boxing skills and he can bring his wrestling skills. We can even do it the British way with rounds.
The Creed Brothers vs. Tony D’Angelo and Channing Lorenzo for the NXT Men’s Tag Team Championships
Julius with a side head lock and take down on Tony. Channing tags in and Julius with an arm drag and Brutus tags in. Brutus with a fireman’s carry. Brutus with a front face lock and a Gator Roll. Channing with a kick and Brutus with a hip toss. Lorenzo pie faces Brutus and Brutus with a clothesline. Julius tags in and hits an atomic drop. Tony tags in and both try for suplexes but they are blocked. Tony with a twisting suplex throw. The referee checks on Julius. Channing tags in and he hits a suplex. Lorenzo with a kick but Julius with punches. Channing sends Julius into the corner and Tony tags in and punches Julius. Tony with a belly-to-belly suplex for a near fall. Tony sends Julius into the turnbuckles and tags in Lorenzo.
Julius with a double leg take down but Lorenzo with a hammer lock. Lorenzo with shoulders against the ropes. He backs Julius into the corner. Lorenzo with a shoulder tackle. Julius with a suplex and Tony tags in. Tony kicks Julius and punches him. Tony with shoulders in the corner and Lorenzo tags in and chops Julius. Julius with punches but Lorenzo with a kick. Julius sends Lorenzo into the corner but Lorenzo with a corkscrew back elbow. Lorenzo with an Irish whip and double leg take down. Lorenzo with a single leg crab. Brutus tags in and Lorenzo goes to teh floor. Brutus sends him back into the ring and Brutus with a running shoulder tackle.
Brutus brings Lorenzo back into the ring and Lorenzo with an elbow drop. Lorenzo kicks Brutus in the ribs and slams the arm into the ring steps. Lorenzo runs the fingers against the rope and Tony tags in. Tony with an uppercut to the arm. Tony stomps on the hand. Lorenzo works on the shoulder and slams the arm into the turnbuckles. Tony tags in and he applies a hammer lock and puts the arm in Brutus’ singlet and he hits a suplex. Lorenzo tags in and he applies a Fujiwara arm bar. Brutus with a forearm or two but he cannot get to his corner. Lorenzo with a drop toe hold and he stomps on the hand. Lorenzo punches Julius on the apron and then he stomps on Brutus’ hand again. Julius and Tony tag in and Julius with a tilt-a-whirl back breaker. He brings Lorenzo back in and then sends Lorenzo over the top rope to the floor. Julius with a wrist lock suplex and forearms. Julius with an overhead belly-to-belly suplex. Julius with a drop kick.
Tony with a back elbow and both with drop kicks so they both go down. Lorenzo pulls Brutus off the apron and Brutus chases Lorenzo into the ring and Brutus with a double leg take down and forearms. Lopez gives Tony a crow bar while the referee deals with Legado on the other side of the ring, but Santos Escobar takes it from Tony and he punches Tony. Julius with a rolling slam and clothesline for the three count.
Winners: The Creed Brothers
After the match, Legado are happy in the aisle while Tony is not in a good mood.
— Roxanne Perez says she has dealt with every possible emotion for three weeks. First, she was in total shock. She leaned on Cora over the years and she was the number one Cora Jade fan. We were doing so good and the fans were behind us. When my friend succeeds, I succeed. We thrived. We were unstoppable. Toxic Attraction had been a thorn in her side. She thought Toxic Attraction attacked me so I was not going to let them stop her. Then what Cora did shocked her. She never thought her best friend would do that. Our friendship was greater than the women’s title. I never want to be associated with Cora again. I was there for her. I was in denial for a week, but it turned to anger when Cora threw the title in the trash. We dreamed of being champions for so long and she threw the title in the trash. My friend is long gone. Okay, bitch, we know the truth. You want me out of your life and I am okay with that. Let’s settle this in two weeks, at Heatwave.
— Cora Jade is with McKenzie and she asks about the challenge. Cora says no. She says if Roxanne was as good an actress as she is a fighter. Roxanne wants the spotlight. I am done with that charity case. Mandy Rose shows up. She tells Cora she is here to talk business. She says Zoey needs to be stopped so she wants to see Cora do what she did before. Cora says it is a deal that only helps Mandy so it is a hard no. The person who steps in if Zoey can’t fight in the match at Heatwave, it is the runner up. Then you won’t have to deal with Roxanne because you will face me at Heatwave. Cora says she will think about it.
We go to commercial.
— McKenzie is with the new NXT Women’s Tag Champs. Katana says they have been cheated and slighted but they finally did it. Kayden says they have been through the best of times and the worst of times and we wanted to give up. The sacrifices made this so much better. Katana says these titles are where they belong and they are going to stay here.
Brooks Jensen vs. Joe Gacy
They lock up and Jensen with clotheslines in the corner followed by an Irish whip and back body drop. Jensen with jabs and a punch. Jensen punches Gacy. Gacy with a rollup and he sends Jensen into the mat. Gacy and Jensen exchange punches in the corner. Gacy with a kick and Irish whip followed by a clothesline and a forearm to Jensen in the corner. Gacy with a uranage and an elbow drop for a near fall. Gacy with a forearm to the back and Jensen with forearms. Jensen escapes a slam attempt and hits a spinning heel kick.
Jagger and Rip work their way over towards Fallon and Josh sees it and stands between them.
Kip Wilson and Elton Prince try to interfere but Jensen stops it. Gacy with a handspring clothesline for the three count.
Winner: Joe Gacy
After the match, Gacy tells Grimes that his life has been split by disappointment and loss. I am reaching out to you and I can fill the emptiness in your soul. You know I am right.
— We see Cameron Grimes in ROOM with PEOPLE watching MONITOR. Someone tells Grimes he is talking about him. Grimes leaves the room.
— Tony is on the phone and he says if it wasn’t for Santos, he would be champion. Channing asks what are they going to do. Tony gets a call and Santos tells Tony that was a tough loss and he asks about his jaw. Tony wants to know where Santos is. Santos says they are almost even. Tony says Santos is done the next time he sees him. Santos says they cannot work for each other and they cannot work together. Tony says one more meeting, just the two of them. Santos accepts.
Alba Fyre vs. Lash Legend
Legend misses a boot as the bell rings and Fyre with chops and kicks. Legend sends Fyre across the ring. Fyre with a DDT and she gets a near fall. Legend blocks an Irish whip and connects with a forearm. Legend with a bicycle kick. Legend with a chin lock. Legend sends Fyre into the turnbuckles and connects with forearms. Legend with a back breaker and she bounces Fyre’s head on the ropes. Legend with a face buster. Legend with a delayed butterfly suplex. Legend tries to send Fyre into the turnbuckles but Fyre reverses. Fyre with a head lock take down and she goes up top. Legend with a forearm to stop Fyre. Fyre blocks a superplex and sends Legend to the mat.
Legend moves and Fyre misses a double stomp. Legend grabs the bat but misses. Fyre with two super kicks and she hits a Gory Bomb and then goes up top for a Swanton for the three count.
Winner: Alba Fyre
— Trick Williams and Carmelo Hayes walk into the MDPLISE and they are talking about the rules for the British Rounds match and then a woman in the parking lot has a car with a dead battery and they are there to help.
We go to commercial.
— We are back and Nikkita Lyons says she is an open book and she is proud of where she comes from. She says that Kiana thinks she is better than everyone and does not like anyone who does not fit into a specific box. Nikkita says she will be waiting for Kiana in the ring next week.
— Next week, Cora Jade faces Zoey Stark. Trick Williams faces Wes Lee in a British Rounds Match.
Von Wagner vs. Solo Sikoa in a Falls Count Anywhere Match
Sikoa with chops after he avoids a shoulder from Wagner. Wagner goes to the floor and Solo follows and hits a shoulder tackle in front of the announce table. Sikoa with a back senton for a near fall. Sikoa with a chop and Wagner with a punch. They get back into the ring and Sikoa with punches. Sikoa with an Irish whip and splash. Sikoa with a slam and diving head butt to the chest for a near fall. Wagner goes to the floor again and Wagner runs Sikoa into the apron and then sends Sikoa into the ring steps. Wagner puts part of the ring steps in the ring. Wagner with a forearm to the back and he sends Sikoa into the ring. Wagner brings some chairs into the ring.
Wagner hits Sikoa with a chair many times. Wagner with a belly-to-back suplex onto a chair for a near fall. Wagner hits Sikoa in the arm with the chair. Wagner sets up some chairs in the center of the ring and Wagner slams Sikoa onto the chairs and Wagner gets a near fall. Wagner with a boot to the head. Wagner with a boot to the head and then he rearranges the announce table. Sikoa wtih a Samoan drop onto the announce table. Sikoa gets a near fall. Sikoa punches Wagner and they fight to the back.
Sikoa sends Wagner out of the building into the Hayes/Williams party. Sikoa pushes Hayes into the car. Wagner sends Sikoa into a wall around the dumpster and then he tosses Sikoa into the dumpster but Sikoa gets up from the dumpster. Sikoa sends Wagner into the metal door and connects with knees. Cameron Grimes leaves the building and Wagner and Sikoa bump into Grimes. Wagner with a back drop driver through a table and he gets a near fall. Wagner with punches to Sikoa. Wagner gets a chair but Sikoa sprays a fire extinguisher in Wagner’s face. They get back into the ring and Sikoa with punches.
Sikoa with a Samoan drop and he gets a chair and hits Wagner many times in the back with it. Sikoa with a uranage onto the ring steps in the ring and he gets a near fall. Sikoa goes up top and Stone grabs Sikoa’s foot. Sikoa picks up Stone and knocks him to the floor. Wagner has time to crotch Sikoa and he goes to the floor. Wagner gets Sikoa on his shoulders but Sikoa escapes and sends Wagner into the ring post. Sikoa with a super kick and then a second one. Wagner falls onto the table and Sikoa knows what to do next. Sikoa goes to the turnbuckles for a frog splash to Wagner through the table and he hits it and the table explodes. Sikoa gets the three count.
Winner: Solo Sikoa
