CM Punk And Jon Moxley Get Physical On Dynamite – After AEW World Champion CM Punk made his return on the August 10 edition of Dynamite, it was confirmed on tonight’s “House of the Dragon” episode that Punk will face Interim AEW World Champion Jon Moxley in a championship unification next week on Dynamite.
The matchup has been teased for months at this point, as talking heads on AEW programming often reminded fans that Mox had a looming challenger in Punk.
The AEW World Champion started off the August 17 edition of AEW Dynamite with a flurry of words for multiple competitors within AEW. After insulting Eddie Kingston, because why not, Punk told Jon Moxley that he is the third best member of his Blackpool Combat Club before noting that it seems to be a reoccurring theme in Moxley’s career, referencing The Shield.
Moxley came out shortly after and noted that he’s the heart and soul of the company, which prompted Punk to respond with the notion that he’s the dollars and cents of AEW. Moxley took advantage of Punk’s words, saying that he only came to AEW because he ran out of money.
Eventually, the two ended up brawling with each other until staff pulled them apart.
