Several things have been announced for tonight’s episode of WWE SmackDown. On WWE’s website, the SmackDown preview article was published with three announcements, including two matches and a segment.
- Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns will address his Clash at the Castle challenger Drew McIntyre on this show. This is expected to be the main event of the September 3rd UK event.
- Shinsuke Nakamura will battle Ludwig Kaiser for an opportunity at the Intercontinental Championship, currently held by Gunther. A date for this upcoming title match wasn’t mentioned.
- Finally, Raquel Rodriguez, Aliyah, Shotzi, Xia Li, Shayna Baszler, Natalya, and Sonya Deville are set to battle it out in Gauntlet Match for the right to challenge Liv Morgan for the SmackDown Women’s Title at WWE Clash at the Castle.
WWE booked a rematch between Ronda Rousey and Morgan for the SmackDown Women’s Title at SummerSlam that ended with Rousey taping out Morgan seconds before the referee counted three as Rousey’s shoulders were pinned on the mat. Morgan was awarded the win. Rousey turned heel by attacking Morgan and the referee after the match.
Although WWE suspended Rousey in storyline, she is expected to be back on TV soon.
