Matt Hardy Talks Claudio Castagnoli Joining AEW – Matt Hardy knows what it is like to join the AEW roster in search of better utilization. Many names, including Matt Hardy, Keith Lee, Swerve Strickland, and more have all joined AEW following the end of their WWE tenures in hopes of greater opportunity. The most recent name to join All Elite Wrestling is Claudio Castagnoli, better known as Cesaro in WWE.
Claudio and Hardy had many matches during their time in WWE, as Cesaro and Sheamus were big rivals of Matt and Jeff Hardy in 2017. Therefore, Matt Hardy knows all about Claudio’s potential and believes that he will be utilized in the best possible way in years on the All Elite Wrestling roster.
“He’s a great asset. If he’s working for any company, he is a great asset,” Matt Hardy said on the latest episode of his podcast, The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy. “He’s one of those guys, too. I worked with him a lot, obviously, when we returned to WWE and we had The Hardys vs The Bar program. He’s a guy who really gets it, but besides just being a great technical wrestler and scientific wrestler, and you know, he has great strikes and is very creative and very unique in the way he does things. On top of that, he speaks so many different languages, that’s insane. But he also would get how to work with ‘Broken’ Matt, or ‘Woken’ Matt, you know? He got the whole gig and he gets how to work with different characters as well. So, I think he truly does have the complete package and I’m very excited to see him in AEW, I think he’s going to really enjoy his time here. I think he’ll probably get the greatest utilization he’s had in a very long time here at AEW.”
Elsewhere on the same podcast, Matt Hardy spoke about a potential character shift for himself to a more conflicted persona.
Claudio is currently a part of the Blackpool Combat Club and picked up the win in Blood & Guts.
