WWE SmackDown Results 7/29

We are live from the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, GA, and we see the props that are going to be used for the Donnybrook Match between Sheamus and Drew McIntyre.

Drew McIntyre vs. Sheamus in a Donnybrook Match for a Title Match at Clash at the Castle

Sheamus attacks Drew from behind as Drew comes to the ring. Drew sends Sheamus into the ringside barrier. Sheamus sends Drew into the ring post.

The match starts and Sheamus punches Drew and kicks him. Sheamus with an Irish whip and Drew with a clothesline out of the corner. Drew with chops and punches. Sheamus with a kick and Drew with a Michinoku Driver for a near fall. Sheamus goes to the floor. Drew goes to the apron and Sheamus trips Drew and then Sheamus gets a shillelagh but misses. Sheamus gets in the ring and misses again. Drew with a belly-to-back suplex and Drew picks up the shillelagh but Sheamus with a back heel kick and clothesline that sends both men over the top rope to the floor. Drew with punches and he sends Sheamus over the announce table. Drew goes under the ring and he brings out a table because the fans want it. Sheamus hits Drew from behind and then connects with a forearm to the back.

Sheamus sends Drew shoulder first into the ring steps.  Drew gets back into the ring and Sheamus sets up the table against the ringside barrier.  Sheamus unwraps the turnbuckle and gets a shillelagh and hits Drew with it a few times.  Sheamus pushes it into Drew’s eye.  Sheamus with forearms across the chest using the shilleagh.  Drew falls to the floor and Sheamus follows.  They fight to the conveniently placed table.  Sheamus sets for a suplex through the table but Drew blocks it and Drew suplexes Sheamus onto the floor.

Drew sends Sheamus into the ringside barrier and ring post.  Drew sends Sheamus into the ring steps.  Drew sends Sheamus into a barrel in the aisle.

We go to commercial.

We are back and Drew fights off a shillelagh from Sheamus.  Sheamus with a tilt-a-whirl slam.  Sheamus gets a chair and hits Drew in the ribs and back with it.  Sheamus puts the chair in the turnbuckles.  Drew fights to get back to his feet and the chair falls out of the turnbuckles.  Sheamus gets Drew up for an Air Raid Crash but Drew escapes and he sends Sheamus into the corner where the phantom chair was.  Drew with clotheslines and an overhead belly-to-belly suplex.  Drew with another overhead belly-to-belly suplex and a neck breaker.  Drew gets a handful of chairs and tosses them into the ring right next to Sheamus.  Drew gets more chairs from under the ring.

Sheamus throws a chair at Drew’s head and connects.  Sheamus sets up the chairs on the mat and goes for an Air Raid Crash onto the chairs but Drew counters with a Future Shock on the chairs for a near fall.  Drew picks up Sheamus but Ridge Holland his Drew from behind with a shillelagh.  Sheamus with a pump knee for a near fall.  Holland gets Drew up and Drew escapes a power slam attempt and Dew sends Holland into the ring post and then he hits an overhead belly-to-belly suplex through the table.

We go to commercial.

We are back and Drew and Sheamus fight on the turnbuckles   Sheamus crotches Drew after blocking a superplex and then puts Drew in the tree of woe.  Sheamus takes too long and Drew pulls himself up and hits an overhead belly-to-belly superplex.  Drew misses a Claymore and Sheamus with an Alabama Slam in Georgia for a near fall.  Sheamus kicks Drew to the floor and Sheamus follows.  Sheamus tries to send Drew into the bar but Drew reverses and sends Sheamus into the bar head first.  Drew sends Sheamus into the bar again.  Butch with a cross body off the barrels.  Sheamus hits Drew in the back with a bar stool.  Sheamus sends Drew into the ring and Sheamus is bleeding from the shoulder.

Sheamus goes to the turnbuckles for a super Air Raid Crash and hits it.  Sheamus gets a near fall.  Sheamus says something to Butch and Butch goes under the ring for a YOSHI HASHI sized shillelagh.  Drew with a head butt to Sheamus and then he hits Butch and Sheamus with the giant shillelagh.  Drew with a Claymore to Butch and Sheamus with a Brogue Kick for a near fall.  Sheamus looks around and he sets for the Brogue Kick and Drew catches Sheamus and power bombs him through the table.  Drew gets to his feet first and Sheamus grabs a piece of a shillelagh and Drwe with a Claymore for the three count.

Winner:  Drew McIntyre

After the match, Kayla asks Drew how it feels to face the Undisputed Champion in Wales.   Drew tells Sheamus it didn’t have to be this way because someone has to take the title off the part time champions. Theory hits Drew with the briefcase out of nowhere. Cole brings up whether Theory will cash in tomorrow night.

— We take a look at what happened between Pat and Happy Corbin last week. Corbin comes through the crowd and he sits in the front row with a Loser sign with McAfee’s photo on him. Pat wonders who sold Corbin a ticket behind where Pat is sitting.

We go to commercial.

– Back from the break and Happy Baron Corbin is taunting Michael Cole and Pat McAfee with the ticket he bought. Cole tells McAfee to just ignore him. Cole shows us how Seth Rollins took out Riddle on Monday’s RAW. Cole also talks about how the Riddle vs. Rollins SummerSlam match has been postponed, but Corbin is still annoying them. McAfee can’t wait to fight Corbin at SummerSlam. McAfee and Cole go over the SummerSlam card as Corbin continues to rant behind them, while also throwing popcorn around. Corbin stands up and McAfee confronts him again. Security is animated while trying to get Corbin to sit down. Corbin tosses his popcorn at McAfee as officials rush down to try and keep them apart. During the chaos, Corbin comes from behind and kicks McAfee below the belt. McAfee goes down and he’s in pain. We go to commercial with McAfee in pain.

Backstage:

We are back and Theory is ambushed by Kayla.  Theory says he is sick and tired of being treated like a punching bag.  He is going to be a two time US Champion.  He can’t help that everyone is jealous of him and that will not stop him from cashing in tomorrow night.  Last week, Brock F-5d him but that won’t stop.  Roman and the Bloodline attacked them and that won’t stop him.  No one will stop him from cashing in and going to Cardiff to make Drew my punching bag.

Paul Heyman stands in front of Theory and he tells Theory he sees a future…

Shotzi vs. Aliyah

They lock up and Shotzi with a head lock itno a hammer lock and she messes with Aliyah’s hair.  Aliyah rolls past Shotzi and applies a side head lock.  Aliyah with a Thesz Press for a near fall.  Aliyah with an arm bar and Shotzi sends Aliyah to the mat.  Shotzi kicks Aliyah in the corner.  Shotzi gets a near fall.  Shotzi with a boot to the midsection and she goes for a Boston Crab and then turns it into a Liontamer.  She returns to the formal Boston Crab.  Aliyah gets to the ropes to force a break but Shotzi pulls her into the center of the ring.  Aliyah with kicks and forearms.  Aliyah with a flying clothesline for a near fall.  Aliyah with a Thesz Press off the apron onto Shotzi.  Shotzi sends Aliyah into the ring post.  Shotzi sends Aliyah into the ring.

Shotzi with a DDT for the three count.

Winner:  Shotzi

— We take a look at Sonya’s fit after losing to Raquel Rodriguez and see Ronda Rousey attack her during a commercial break.

Backstage:

We go to the face off between Ronda Rousey and Liv Morgan. Natalya tells Liv to enjoy her time as champion because Ronda will beat you in record time.  Natalya says she is supposed to be the champion. Sonya shows up and she mentions that Ronda attacked her after Raquel beat her last week.

— We cut to Shotzi laughing in the ring. Before she can say something about Aliyah, Ronda Rousey makes her way to the ring. Ronda asks for the mic and Ronda with a judo throw and Piper’s Pit.  Ronda tells Shotzi bye bye. Ronda says people are complaining they should be in the title picture.  She tells Liv to come out here to tell everyone that they are the ones fighting for the title tomorrow.

We go to commercial.

— Back from the break and we get a SummerSlam promo. Cole says Paul Heyman will have a Special Address tonight. We go back to the ring and Rousey is pacing around as her music plays. The music switches up and out comes Morgan to a pop.

Ronda Rousey and Liv Morgan vs. Natalya and Sonya Deville

Ronda and Natalya start things off and Ronda with a take down.  Ronda with a hammer lock and Natalya with a fireman’s carry.  Natalya with a wrist lock and Ronda with a reversal.  Ronda with a judo throw for a near fall.  Ronda with a front face lock and Liv tags in.  Ronda sends Liv to Natalya for a head scissors take down.  Sonya tags in and Liv with a kick.  Sonya with a forearm and kicks in the corner.  Liv floats over and Sonya with a kick.  Liv with a drop kick.  Liv witih a running back elbow into the corner.  Liv with a running knee into the corner and Ronda tags in.  Liv with a matrix to avoid Sonya and Ronda with a kick.  Sonya gets to the apron and goes to the floor.  Liv tags in and they argue.

Sonya pulls Liv off the apron and sends Liv into the ringside barrier.  Sonya with a knee to the ribs.  Natalya tags in and Sonya chokes Liv in the ropes and Natalya with a kick.  Natalya with a suplex and a sleeper.  Natalya with forearms and she sends Liv to the floor.  Natalya with a suplex on the floor.

We go to commercial.

We are back and Sonya sends Liv into the turnbuckles many times and then connects with a running knee for a near fall.  Sonya sends Liv into the turnbuckles and Natalya tags in and they hit a double suplex.  Natalya with a reverse chin lock and she sends Liv to the mat.  Natalya with kicks to the midsection.  Liv tries to make the tag but Natalya stops her.  Liv with a Codebreaker for a near fall.  Liv with a forearm and Natalya fires back.  Natalya with an Irish whip and Liv with a boot but Natalya with a forearm.  Sonya tags in and kicks Liv.  Sonya with a forearm.  Sonya with a snap mare and reverse chin lock.  Liv with elbows and punches.  Sonya with a round kick to the temple but Liv bounces off the ropes and hits an enzuigiri.

Both women are down.  Liv crawls to the corner and Ronda wants the tag but Liv refuses.  Liv misses ObLIVion and Liv counters a slingshot move with a victory roll for a near fall.  Natalya with a clothesline for a near fall.  Liv with a drop toe hold to Natalya and Liv crawls to the corner and Ronda tags herself in and Ronda with a kick to Sonya and a knee to the head.  Ronda with Piper’s Pit and sets for the arm bar but Natalya hits Ronda.  Liv with ObLIVion to Natalya.  Ronda with an ankle lock on Sonya and Sonya taps out.

Winners:  Ronda Rousey and Liv Morgan

— We take a look at all of the ‘missed calls’ by the referees in matches involving the Street Profits and Usos since Money in the Bank.

— The Street Profits make their way to the ring as we go to commercial.

In the Arena:

We are back and the Usos make their way to the ring. Before anyone can speak, it is time for the R-E-Double F to make his way to the ring.

Jeff says he has some words for both teams.  He says he thought it would be a good idea for the four of them to get together and get things straight.  He wants them to know how serious he is taking his job as guest referee.

All four men ask what would be considered a disqualification.  

Jeff says they have some creative imagination.  He says he is not here to contain them.  He is here to let them go wild.  He has one job.  When there are two shoulders on the mat, he calls one, two, three.  That is tomorrow.  Tonight, they have some outstanding issues.  If one of you feel froggy, why don’t one of ya jump.

Dawkins says there won’t be any jumping.  he asks if it would be a disqualfiication if he…

Dawkins with a punch and Ford with a punch as all four men fight in the ring.  Jey hits Jarrett with a super kick when Ford moves.  Jimmy asks Jey what did he just do.  Jimmy yells at Jey and they want to see if Jeff is okay.  Jey helps Jeff up and Jeff pushes JImmy and Jey.  Dawkins push JImmy and Jey to the floor.  Ford with a flip dive onto the Usos.

We go to commercial.

— We are back and Maxxine Dupri is with Mace and Mansoor with the premiere of the swimwear line and it is SummerSlam related. The reportedly done and dusted Max Dupri is here and says they are still seeking clients.

The New Day vs. The Viking Raiders

Woods and Erik start things off and Woods floats over and punches Erik.  Woods with punches after avoiding a forearm from Erik.  Woods with punches from the corner and a sunset flip for a near fall.  Erik with a clothesline.  Kofi tags in and he connects with a shoulder.  Woods with a rollup and Kofi with a cross body for a near fall.  Erik with an Irish whip and Kofi comes off the turnbuckles with a head scissors.  Erik with a shoulder tackle.  Ivar tags in.  Erik and Ivar with punches against the ropes.  Ivar with a kick and Erik tags in.  Erik with a punch.  Kofi with a punch and elbows to Ivar on the apron.  Kofi with punches and Ivar makes the tag.  Ivar pulls Kofi over the top rope by his hair.

Ivar with a cross body to Kofi against the ringside barrier and we go to commercial.

We are back and Ivar wtih a chin bar on Kofi.  Kofi with punches but Ivar with a punch and Kofi falls into the ropes.  Ivar with a punch to the top of the head.  Kofi blocks a punch and hits SOS for a near fall.  Woods and Erik tag in and Woods with a rolling elbow and satellite into a side Russian leg sweep.  Woods drop kicks Ivar and then he hits a drop toe hold on Erik that sends him into the ropes.  Woods goes through the ropes with a splash to Erik and a drop kick to Ivar.  Woods with a tornado DDT for a near fall.  

Woods with a knee and Kofi tags in.  Woods with a gourdbuster and Kofi with Shadows over Hell for a near fall.  Ivar with a spin kick of doom to Woods.  Kofi kicks Ivar.  Kofi with a rollup on Erik for a near fall.  Erik with a hip lock into a knee to the head.  Ivar tags in and Ivar with a seated splash in the corner.  They set for the double choke slam and hit it for the three count.

Winners: The Viking Raiders

After the match, The Vikings stand tall as the music hits. They go to the timekeeper’s area to grab their shields and a few steel chairs. They return to the ring where Kofi is still down. Woods comes in to face off with The Vikings. He charges Erik but Erik swats him in the face with a huge shield shot, laying him out. They toss Kofi to the floor, then wrap a chair around Woods’ ankle. The Vikings then smash the chair and Woods’ leg with a double shield strike. Woods screams out in pain. The Vikings exit the ring while officials rush down to check on Woods. We go to replays. Erik and Ivar head up the ramp while a trainer tends to Woods.

We go to commercial.

In the Arena:

We are back and Paul Heyman is in the ring.  

Paul starts to introduce himself and the crowd does it for him.  Paul restates what he does for Roman Reigns.  He says the Roman is the one true champion in sports entertainment and the man who will be the Last Man Standing.  He says 700 days in the modern era as THE Heavyweight champion is unheard of.  For 35 years, no one has gotten to 700 days as heavyweight champion and Brock Lesnar will not be the spoiler.  Paul says tomorrow, Roman Reigns will not pin Brock Lesnar, he will not just SMASH Brock Lesnar.  Roman will put Brock down for ten seconds and stand over an embarrassed and victimized Brock Lesnar holding both titles over Brock Lesnar.  We will be done with Brock Lesnar, once and for all.

Brock Lesnar’s music plays and Paul is not very happy.

A shocked Heyman looks on as Lesnar makes the pyro go off, then heads to the ring. Lesnar is all smiles as he makes his way down to the ring. He circles the ring as Heyman looks on. Lesnar is all business now as he stares Heyman down. Heyman offers Lesnar the mic and Lesnar smirks. Heyman backs away into the corner as Lesnar gets closer but Theory suddenly attacks from behind with his Money In the Bank briefcase.

Lesnar takes a few briefcase shots and then decks Theory, and starts beating him with his own briefcase. Lesnar then launches Theory with two German suplexes. Theory stumbles out of the ring and turns around to a big Claymore Kick from Drew McIntyre, who rushes down the ramp to lay him out from out of nowhere. Drew stares at the ring now, locking eyes with Lesnar. Lesnar smirks back at Drew. A shocked Heyman looks on from behind McIntyre while Theory rolls around in pain. The final SmackDown before WWE SummerSlam goes off the air with Lesnar standing tall in the ring, staring out at McIntyre.
