Our Top Picks Of The Best WWE Champions Of All Time

WWE Champions of All Time – Wrestling is such an entertaining sport. Elite athletes compete inside a ring hoping to knock the other out to win a championship title. But it’s so much more than this. Professional wrestlers train for years to be fit and ready and let’s not get started on the theatrics. A lot goes into putting on a show that’s going to get fans coming back for more. And we couldn’t be happier about the production AND the wrestling. While wrestling has dominated and continues to dominate in the world of sports other styles of fighting have popped up and proved equally as popular but that’s a conversation for another day. Let’s look at some of the best WWE Champions of all time.

Stone Cold Steve Austin

The Texas Rattlesnake as he is also known, Stone Cold was a formidable opponent to anyone who challenged him in the ring. He is also one of the few wrestlers who has rivaled Hulk Hogan’s popularity. Steve Austin was known for entering the arena beer in hand, smashing said beer, and drinking it in front of thousands. What also made him unique was how he rebelled against the establishment as a working-class man proving to instantly boost his popularity. Stone Cold’s no-nonsense attitude as well as his tactical moves in the ring makes him one of the greatest to ever do it. Earlier this year the legend returned to the ring for WrestleMania 38. Fun fact: Steve Austin went on to host a show called Broken Skull Challenge where he invited athletes to his ranch to compete in battles until one reigned supreme. Other former pro wrestlers like Cody Rhodes, Bret Hart, and The Undertaker each made an appearance on the show.

The Undertaker

There was not a kid in the 90s who wasn’t afraid of The Undertaker, even if they said they were not. There were also rumors that Kane and The Undertaker are brothers, a rumor that lasted for quite some time! Of course, this wasn’t true. We must point out just why The Undertaker was one of the greatest. Firstly, his introduction to the ring is second to none, getting out of a whole casket before a fight is truly something else. Secondly, his champion status is god-tier because he was able to sell tickets no matter when and where he wrestled, people wanted to see him. This legend also faced many other legends for title belts and those include Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, and Psycho Sid – Undertaker beating Sid in WrestleMania 13 is still one for the history books. After three fantastic decades with the company, The Undertaker officially retired in 2020 and was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame earlier this year. Fun fact: The first champion he beat was Jerry “The King” Lawler in the USWA Unified World Heavyweight Championship.

Hulk Hogan

Hulkamania was a thing during the 80s and it cemented Hogan as a world-class superstar. Hogan had a certain flair about him, his golden hair, and athletic physique coupled with his warm presence made him stand out as an All-American and there’s nothing US citizens love more than an All-American. While Hulkamania drew the crowds by the thousands, Hogan fought some tough opponents during his tenure as a pro wrestler. One of his best matches, in our opinion, was when he went up against The Rock at WrestleMania 18. This match was spectacular due to several reasons. This was Hogan passing the torch to The Rock. Both are larger-than-life figures, so they gave the fans a general clash of the ages. Fun fact: He is the first and only wrestler to grace the cover of Sports Illustrated.

John Cena

“You can’t see me” resonates with millennials as during our youth John Cena was a polarizing figure in the wrestling community. So far, he is the only professional wrestler to hold 13 WWE Championship titles – an amazing feat. Cena headlined many fights, some of which truly showed his ability in the ring as well as his character as a person. He had a rivalry with another great, Edge which truly put Cena on the map. Funny enough, while Cena was and stays a popular figure in wrestling, he was often criticized for overshadowing other wrestlers. But this did not stop him at all. Fun fact: Cena was once beaten by Kevin Federline. This was a truly shocking moment in WWE history.
