During tonight’s episode of WWE SmackDown, Gunther defeated Ricochet to win the Intercontinental Championship.
This is Gunther’s first title on the main roster. He was previously the WWE United Kingdom Champion. Gunther’s title win comes after a report stating that Vince McMahon is very high on him.
Gunther won the match cleanly after hitting a dropkick and a powerbomb. Clearly, there are plans to push him up as a top star on the brand.
This is Gunther’s first title reign on the main roster. Ricochet began his first run with the Intercontinental Title back on the March 4 SmackDown, by defeating Sami Zayn. Ricochet held the strap for 98 recognized days.
