Former WWE referee Tim White has passed away at 68 years old. The news first broke on Shawn Michaels Twitter account.
On camera, White worked as a referee for WWE through the 1980s and 90s. He was also a very important person behind the scenes. White worked as a producer and he is known as one of Andre The Giant’s best friends. White worked as Andre’s agent/handler in the 80s.
In 2002, White suffered a shoulder injury during a Hell in a Cell match between Chris Jericho and Triple H at the Judgment Day pay-per-view. He returned later that year at WrestleMania XX but he re-injured the shoulder and that was the end of his days as a referee.
WWE brought him back to do skits with Josh Mathews where he was depicted as being depressed and wanting to take his life. In a series of skits, White would seemingly take his life only to return a week later. The series of skits ended with White shooting Mathews.
White was released in 2009, ending a 24-year stint with the company.
