Cody Rhodes Dealing With Legit Injury – Last night at the live event in Champaign, Illinois, they did an angle where Seth Rollins attacked Cody Rhodes. Drew McIntyre replaced Cody in the main event of the show but Cody appeared after the match to chase Rollins around the ring and to the back.
During Sunday Night’s Main Event podcast, Dave Meltzer confirmed that Cody Rhodes is indeed injured (torn pec) but he is hoping to get through tonight’s Hell in a Cell match with Rollins.
“Cody was injured lifting weights. From what I gather, it’s a pretty serious injury. My impression is that he is working the match tonight with the injury and I guess will get it taken care of later,” Meltzer said. “The injury is legit. Everything that I heard was that he was working tonight. The doctors may say you can’t, I don’t know. It’s not an in-ring injury, it was a weightlifting injury.”

Unfortunately, the Cody Rhodes injury news going around is accurate. He is still scheduled to work tonight’s HIAC event, w/ the severity of the injury still being determined. I’m told plans for the match have been changing all day long. Feel terrible for Cody.
A torn pec could keep Cody on the shelf for months. The injury comes at a time when they need star power because Roman Reigns is working a limited schedule.
