“Young Rock” To Start Opposing WWE SmackDown In The Fall

NBCUniversal held its upfront presentation on Monday morning and announced its fall schedule, which will see a new night for “Young Rock.”

The series about Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s life was recently picked up for its third season. It will be moving to Friday nights beginning in November 2022.

The show will be part of a one-hour comedy block on Friday nights for NBC with George Lopez’s “Lopez vs. Lopez” airing at 8 p.m. ET followed by Young Rock, which means it will go head-to-head with WWE Friday Night SmackDown on FOX.

The upcoming season will dive deeper into Johnson’s professional wrestling career in WWE. Johnson, Joseph Lee Anderson, Stacey Leilua, Adrian Groulx, Bradley Constant, Uli Latukefu, Ana Tuisila, Fasitua Amosa, and John Tui star in the series.

Ratings for the second season of the show decreased from the first season as it has averaged 2,148,000 viewers and 0.37 in the key 18-49 demo.
