WWE Add Another Term To Its Banned Words List

Long-time fans know that there are certain words that wrestlers and announcers are not allowed to say on WWE programming.

On Monday’s Raw, there was a promo segment between Mustafa Ali, The Miz, and United States Champion Theory. Theory said his mentor, Vince McMahon, agreed to give Ali a  match later in the show. It was billed as a “non-title championship contenders match.”

Theory and The Miz beat Ali in a handicap match in under 3 minutes when The Miz hit the Skull Crushing Finale. Post-match, Theory, and Miz went to the stage and took a selfie.

Dave Meltzer mentioned on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio that “non-title” is on the WWE banned list of words. Meltzer said, “Well, they can’t say non-title. That’s a banned term.”

Last year, Meltzer put together an updated list of the banned words from 2020 that McMahon doesn’t like. Some of the terms include the following: blood, choke, belt, strap, diva, head shot, trauma, kayfabe, mofos, house show, and DQ.
