After Tessa Blanchard was reportedly at odds with WOW Women Of Wrestling, the belief among those in the promotion is that she is no longer part of the company.
Dave Meltzer reported the news in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. Meltzer added that the “two sides had different ideas and were constantly butting heads.” Blanchard wasn’t at the TV tapings last weekend, WOW’s first set after going on a long hiatus.
As previously reported by Fightful, there have been issues between both sides. It was partially related due to a promo she did in April on wrestler Samantha Sage/Americana during a class. Many trainees spoke up about it and further promo classes were canceled. Blanchard was removed as the lead trainer following the incident and replaced by Selina Majors.
Blanchard’s negative reputation she had built on the independent circuit has followed her throughout her career. She has denied accusations of being a racist and bullying other female wrestlers.
Chelsea Green previously alleged Blanchard tried “to look better than” the rest of the wrestlers (herself, Dr. Britt Baker, and Madison Rayne) involved in a match at the All In event in 2018.
She hasn’t worked for a major promotion in two years following her release from Impact Wrestling. Cassidy Haynes of Bodyslam.net reported last September that AEW and WWE have no plans to sign her.
Blanchard’s last match came in September 2020 when she lost the Warrior Wrestling Women’s Title to Kylie Rae.
