Mustafa Ali Returns To RAW In A Big Way – Mustafa Ali made his return during a Miz TV segment with Theory on tonight’s RAW episode.
Theory and Miz made fun of Ali for taking his ball and going home and Miz wondered if he still “worked here.” Ali suggested an open challenge for the United States Championship but Theory declined but after some trash talk from Ali, a match was made.
Via a text to Theory from Vince McMahon, Ali was booked to face The Miz. Miz then told that Ali will wish he got his walking papers.
The two stars competed in a hard-fought bout, and in the end, Ali reversed a Figure-Four leg-lock into a pin for the win. He didn’t get to celebrate the victory for long, though, as former NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa blindsided him with an attack from behind.
Ali had been absent from WWE television since last fall. He took a week off for the birth of his daughter, and a reported argument with Vince McMahon prolonged his time on the sidelines. Ali requested his WWE release in January, but it wasn’t granted.
