Logan Paul WrestleMania News, What Triple H Told Him, More

Westlake, Ohio native and YouTube star Logan Paul turned heads with a stellar WrestleMania 38 performance.

Perhaps the strong in-ring performance shouldn’t be all that surprising, given his background in high-level sports. Paul was actually a wrestling star and football player in high school (he attended Westlake High School).

Paul teamed up with The Miz at “The Showcase of Immortals” inside AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. They went against the popular tag team of Rey and Dominik Mysterio. Paul dazzled with strong in-ring work, and the match earned a stellar 3.5 star rating (out of five) from Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

Per FanDuel , Paul and The Miz — a product of Parma, Ohio — entered the match with The Mysterios as +135 underdogs. Rey and Dominik came in as the plus -175 favorites. Paul and The Miz were one of the two betting underdogs to win at night one of WrestleMania 38; SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair (a +550) underdog defeated major -1000 favorite Ronda Rousey in their title match.

There is hope that the FanDuel Ohio sportsbook will launch in early 2023. However, there is no timeline on when it could receive the green light. Should FanDuel Ohio launch, fans in the Buckeye State will be able to bet on the state’s professional sports teams such as the Reds, Guardians, Browns, Bengals, Cavaliers and Blue Jackets.

Paul and Miz were victorious in their match. The latter performed the pinfall victory on the Master of the 619 to claim the win for the underdogs. In a surprise, WWE tried to make Paul a babyface by having The Miz attack him shortly after their win.

Triple H’s Advice For Logan Paul

Triple H (real name Paul Levesque), offered Paul some advice ahead of his WrestleMania bout.

Paul revealed what the company’s Executive Vice President of Global Talent Strategy & Development said to him during a recent edition of his Impaulsive podcast.

“Literally, right before I went on, Triple H came up to me, he goes, ‘just so you know, it’s not always about the physicality. The people want to see your charisma. They want to see you, your personality.’ I went, ‘okay, cool.’ So I took that,” he said. “I actually took that and was thinking about what he said during some of the displays. And tried to just come through the screen so people could feel my emotion.”

It’s unclear if Paul will return to WWE any time soon. The WrestleMania Backlash pay-per-view will run on May 8 at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center in Providence, Rhode Island.

Like last year’s WrestleMania Backlash event, the card for this year’s show will largely feature rematches from “The Show of Shows.”

Paul added on that edition of the podcast that he doesn’t “want to be a bad guy”, and that he’d like a babyface run.

Needless to say, the seeds are there for a face program against The Miz.

Logan Paul’s Other WWE Appearances

This wasn’t Paul’s first recent WWE appearance. The 27-year-old was also present at WrestleMania 37 weekend at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa Bay, Florida for the Kevin Owens-Sami Zayn match.

The Prized Fighter defeated his longtime rival and met with Paul in the ring immediately after the bout. Much to the delight of the crowd, Owens hit the Stunner finishing maneuver on Paul.

Paul also showed up on the Sept. 3 episode of WWE SmackDown for a segment involving Kevin Owens and Happy Corbin on “The KO Show.” Just as Owens and Paul were about to get physical, Corbin struck the former Universal Champion.

Paul and Corbin taunted Owens after the attack, and the former screamed “Wooooo!” into the microphone before heading backstage.

The YouTube star would make several more televised appearances on the road to WrestleMania 38. This included a segment on the March 7 episode of Raw, which was held in Cleveland.

The pride of Westlake was one of several celebrities to appear at WrestleMania 38 weekend. Johnny Knoxville faced the aforementioned Sami Zayn in an “Anything Goes” match on the second night of the show, which the former won via pinfall.

On top of that, Hall of Famer ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin faced Owens for his first wrestling match in 19 years. The Texas Rattlesnake defeated Owens in the main event of night one.
