AEW Rampage Results (4/1)

We’re underway! Excalibur, Taz, Ricky Starks and Chris Jericho are on commentary.

Young Bucks (with Brandon Cutler) vs. Top Flight

Dante Martin and Nick Jackson start off in the ring. Dante rolls out of Nick’s springboard arm drag. A little more cat and mouse leads to both men at a stalemate on the arena floor.

A sneak attack by Matt gives Nick the advantage back in the ring. Nick tags in Matt. Darius helps Dante regain control. Top Flight hit a double dropkick on Nick to take control of the match.

Dante works on Matt’s arm and tags in Darius. Darius grounds Matt and continues to work on his arm.

Darius tags in Dante and he gets a 2-count on Matt. Quick tag brings Darius back in and Matt escapes with a strike to the throat. Nick tags in and the Bucks regain the advantage.

Nick goes for a springboard but Darius reverses and sends Nick to the outside. Dante takes out both Bucks with a dive to the outside.

Some stalling on the arena floor by the Bucks. They outmaneuver Top Flight and take them down with superkicks.

Matt gets Darius back in the ring and the Bucks run wild with some double team offense as we go to the picture-in-picture break.

Back from the break, Darius tags in Dante and he takes down Matt. Dante takes down Nick on the ring apron and then hits Matt with a springboard dropkick.

Matt goes to the eyes to take back control and sends Dante to the outside. Nick tags in, but Dante evades his offense and Top Flight hit a flurry of offense for a near fall on Nick.

Dante launches over the back of Darius and Nick while Nick has Darius in a waist lock. Top Flight retakes control from there.

Dante tries for the Nosedive, but Matt pushes him off the top rope. Darius and Nick trade strikes in the ring. Darius goes for a backslide but the Bucks reverse it into a BTE Trigger and that gets the pin.

Young Bucks defeated Top Flight via pinfall

We get a highlight video for Kris Statlander. “Welcome to the other side of Kris Statlander,” she said.

Back from the break, Dan Lambert, TNT Champion Scorpio Sky, Ethan Page, and Paige VanZant are in the ring. Lamber talks trash on Sammy Guevara and Tay Conti. Ethan Page wants to know who took the lewd pictures of Guevara and Conti. Page wants to know if Fuego Del Sol was “doing all the heavy lifting”.

Guevara shows up on the video screen. He and Conti are outside the arena and take a pair of sledgehammers to a vehicle that presumably belongs to Lambert. Guevara gets a bottle of spray paint and writes “Be mad” on the vehicle.

Backstage, Tony Schiavone is set to interview Hook. Unfortunately, Danhausen interrupts before Hook can speak a word. Danhausen tries to curse Hook, but again, it has no effect.

House of Black vs. Fuego Del Sol, Evil Uno & Stu Grayson

Buddy Matthews and Grayson start out. Grayson sends Murphy to the floor and hits a dive over the top rope.

Back in the ring, Fuego tags himself in, but Matthews retakes control and tags in Brody King. King press slams Fuego over the top rope onto Grayson and Uno on the floor as we go to the picture-in-picture break.

Back from the break, Fuego is being worked over by House of Black. Fuego escapes Matthews and tags in Grayson. Grayson and Uno run wild on House of Black. They hit an assisted powerbomb on Malakai Black for a near fall.

King overpowers Uno to retake control. King dives from the ring apron onto Grayson and Uno on the floor.

Fuego and Black face off in the ring. King and Matthews join them in the ring. Grayson pulls out Matthews. Uno takes down King and Fuego gets a roll-up for a 2-count on Black.

Fuego hits a poison ‘rana. Fuego goes for a springboard but runs right into a spinning kick by Black and that gets the pin.

House of Black defeated Fuego Del Sol, Stu Grayson & Evil Uno via pinfall

Chris Jericho declares the House of Black his Sports Entertainers of the Week.

Backstage, the Young Bucks run down their many career accomplishments. They accept FTR’s challenge for a match on Wednesday’s Dynamite.

Owen Hart Foundation Women’s Tournament Qualifier: Jamie Hayter vs. Skye Blue

Jericho says Dr. Britt Baker is boycotting AEW and refuses to step back into an AEW ring until they’re back in her hometown of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Hayter and Blue trade holds to start out. Blue sends Hayter into the corner. Blue charges in but Hayter catches her and drives Blue’s face into the second turnbuckle.

Hayter runs Blue across the ring and into the opposite turnbuckle.

Hayter pulls Blue to the center of the ring. She goes for a suplex but Blue reverses into a rollup and then a series of more pinning attempts. Hayter kicks out of all of them and hits a backbreaker on Blue.

Blue tries to fight back with some strikes. Hayter recovers but Blue hits a running knee to retain the advantage. A kick by Blue takes down Hayter and gets a 2-count.

Blue picks up Hayter but Hayter overpowers her and hits a backdrop driver. Hayter charges into a superkick by Blue. Blue climbs to the top rope but Hayter trips her up. Hayter climbs up and brings down Blue with a superplex and then follows up with a sheer drop brainbuster. Hayter hits a ripcord lariat and that gets the pin.

Jamie Hayter defeated Skye Blue via pinfall

Backstage, Penta Oscuro warns House of Black to not forget about Death Triangle.

Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite:

  • AAA Tag Team Title Match: FTR (c) vs. Young Bucks
  • Christian Cage vs Adam Cole
  • Tables Match: The Hardys vs The Butcher & The Blade

Mark Henry talks to Keith Lee and Powerhouse Hobbs. It’s almost time for the main event.

Keith Lee vs. Powerhouse Hobbs

Hobbs is going it alone. No one is in his corner.

They lock up a few times to start but neither can overpower the other. Hobbs tries some shoulder blocks but that doesn’t do much. Lee powers Hobbs out of the ring as we go to the picture-in-picture break,

Back from the break, Hobbs is in control after running Lee into a ringside barrier during the break.

A lariat takes down Lee and gets a 2-count for Hobbs.

Lee fights his way back to his feet and fires some strikes at Hobbs. Lee hits his own lariat and gets a 2-count.

A powerslam by Hobbs gets another 2-count. Hobbs charges and misses. Lee throws Hobbs out of the corner and nearly across the ring!

Lee connects with a headbutt and Hobbs goes down. Ricky Starks runs down from commentary with a chair. Lee swats it out of his hand. Swerve Strickland arrives and takes down Starks.

Hobbs hits his spinebuster on Lee but the referee is outside the ring and can’t make the count. Hobbs picks up Lee but Lee reverses into the Big Bang Catastrophe and gets the pin!

Keith Lee defeated Powerhouse Hobbs via pinfall

Starks lays out Strickland with a steel chair and puts Strickland through a table at ringside.

Starks gets into the ring but gets taken down by Lee. Hobbs grabs the chair and flattens Lee with a chair shot. Starks brings a table into the ring.

Starks and Hobbs beat up on Lee. The table is set up in the corner. Lee tries to fight back but Hobbs spears Lee through the table. Hobbs and Starks stand tall as this episode comes to an end.
