WWE SmackDown Results (3/04) Miami, FL – We begin with a lot of promos to start the show.

Paul Heyman is in the back and he introduces himself and says that as special counsel for the Universal Champion, this show is blessed not only with his presence and your opportunity to acknowledge him.

Ronda Rousey says she will make her first match on Smackdown one to remember.  Sonya Deville has abused her power too long.  I will remind her the name of the show.

Sonya Deville says that Ronda Rousey will suffer her first lost.

Erik says the Usos have been playing a game of hide and seek.  Ivar says Vikings don’t hide.  They will take the tag titles from whatever is left of the Usos.

Jey asks Jimmy if the Vikings will be able to do it.  Jimmy says the Viking Raiders chances are about as good as getting into skinny jeans.

Ricochet says that Sami Zayn is called calculating but tonight, they won’t be calling him intercontinental champion.

Sami sys that the high flying is cutting off the circulation in his brain.  He says he has a lot of names.  Tonight they will find out why he is called the master strategist.  After his win tonight, everyone will call him the greatest Intercontinental Champion of all time.

— We are live from the FTX Arena in Miami, FL, as Sami Zayn makes his way to the ring. We see what happened last week with Johnny Knoxville. Ricochet is out next and we are ready for the Intercontinental Championship match.

Sami Zayn vs. Ricochet for the Intercontinental Championship

Ricochet with a rollup for a near fall.  Ricochet with a side ehead lock and he flips over Zayn’s back and hits a handstand head scissors take down and drop kick.  RIcochet with a springboard move and he goes over Zayn.  Zayn with a clothesline for a near fall.  Zayn with a crossface.  Zayn with a front fce lock and Ricochet wtih a kick and an enzuigiri for a near fall.  Zayn goes to the apron and Zayn with a shoulder on the apron.  Ricochet with a super kick that knocks Zayn down on teh apron.  Ricohet has a super kick blocked on the apron and Zayn with a half and half suplex on the apron.

We go to commercial.

We are back and Zayn kicks Ricochet and goes to the turnbuckles.  Ricochet grabs the boot but Zayn kicks Ricochet away.  Ricochet with a jumping rana for a near fall.  Ricochet with a slingshot move but Zayn catches him and hits a sit out power bomb for a near fall.  Zayn tries for a Blue Thunder Bomb but Ricochet with a side head lock and elbows.  Zayn goes for an exploder into the corner but Ricochet counters with a rollup for a near fall.  Ricochet with a leg sweep and standing moonsault for a near fall.  Ricochet with a thrust kick and Zayn falls to the floor.  Ricochet with a Space Flying Tiger Drop onto Zayn.  Ricochet goes up top and Zayn crotches him.  Ricochet is pushed to the floor by Zayn.  

Johnny Knoxville’s music plays and he makes his way to the ring.  He gets on the apron and Zayn goes after him.  Ricochet with a West Coast Pop for the three count.

Winner and NEW Intercontinental Champion:  Ricochet

— We take a look back at Pat McAfee interviewing Vince McMahon. We see McMahon’s office door and we go to commercial.

Backstage:

Sami is in the back and he is not happy.  He attacks some inanimate objects.  He wants to know why they are following him.  He asks if you like following him when he is humiliated?  Just like Johnny Knoxville following him.  He is stalking him in his comments.  Following him to Smackdown.  If you want to follow me, why not follow me to Dallas and I will see you at Wrestlemania.

In the Arena:

Austin Theory shows up and he says that he is the protege of Vince McMahon.  He is here tonight and where Vince is, Austin Theory goes.  Austin asks Pat why was Vince on his show?  He set you up.  He is always one step, or in your case, four or five steps ahead.  You must think that Vince loves you, but he does everything for the WWE.  He knows that you are a loudmouth and everyone wants to hear you shut up.  What are you going to do when your mouth is wired shut and you can’t eat breakfast, lunch, or dinner without a straw.

Theory goes over to the announce table.  Austin tells McAfee that he is his opponent at Wrestlemania and he will beat him to a pulp.  Austin slaps McAfee and leaves.

Pat gets on the announce table while Theory takes a selfie. McAfee looks on from the announce table as Michael Cole tries to calm him down. McAfee puts his headset back on and keeps asking who Theory is. McAfee is furious and at one point blames Cole for what just happened. Cole says he had no idea what was going to happen. Cole asks if what Theory did hurt, and McAfee says it did not.

— Naomi and Sasha Banks make their way to the ring as we go to commercial.

— Back from the break and Zelina says they are a month away from the biggest night of the year and Carmella mentions her wedding night.  Zelina says she is talking about Wrestlemania.  Carmella says she is the only one who is going to glow tonight, just like her wedding night.

Naomi vs. Carmella

Carmella has her mask put on and Naomi with a round kick to Carmella on the apron.  Naomi goes up top and Carmella crotches Naomi after Zelina distracts Naomi.  Carmella with a reverse chin lock.  Naomi with elbows and a jaw breaker.  Naomi gets Carmella to cover up and Naomi with a round kick for a near fall.  Naomi goes into the turnbuckles when Carmella escapes the bulldog.  Zelina gets on the apron and the referee sees it.  Sasha pulls Zelina off the apron and Sasha with a running double knee strike into the ring steps.  Naomi with a kick and split legged moonsault for the three count.

Winner:  Naomi

We see Natalya watching MONITOR in the back.

Backstage:

Baron Corbin is in the back playing cards with Riddick Moss and others and Corbin talks about his match against Drew McIntyre at Wrestlemania.  Corbin mentions that he won the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal and beat Kurt Angle in previous Wrestlemania.  Moss does a Drew McIntyre impression.

We go to commercial.

Drew McIntyre vs. Jinder Mahal

They lock up and go to a stalemate.  Drew blocks a kick and Mahal with punches and a side head lock.  Drew with a shoulder tackle and chops.  Mahal with a round kick for a near fall.  Mahal with a knee to the back and a half nelson and chin bar.  Mahal with an elbow to the back of the head.  Drew with an overhead belly-to-belly suplex.  Drew with another overhead belly-to-belly suplex.  Drew with a neck breaker.  Drew sets for the Claymore but Shanky gets on the apron and Drew stops him.  Mahal goes for the Khallas but Drew powers out of the hold and hits a head butt and Claymore for the three count.

Winner:  Drew McIntyre

After the match, Kayla Braxton congratulates Drew in the ring.  She asks about Moss and Corbin having fun at his expense. Drew says he does not give a damn about what they think and no one else does.  They have zero respect in the locker room and nobody likes him.  Drew asks the crowd if they want to gouge their eyes out when Corbin is on the screen.  Drew even gets Kayla to agree.  Drew says he will be doing the world a favor.  While you are in the back playing with yourself, you might be undefeated as Happy Corbin, but all things must come to an end and I will take you out.

— We return to the quietest poker game, until Riddick tells a ‘joke’.  But no one is in the mood to laugh after McIntyre’s words…

We go to commercial.

— We are back with a video package for last week’s contract signing between Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar.

In the Arena:

Shinsuke Nakamura (with Rick Boogs) is out for his match, but The Usos attack them from behind and then they hit super kicks on Boogs and Nakamura.

Jimmy and Jey hold up their fingers for the entrance of Universal Champion Roman Reigns with Paul Heyman.

Roman takes the mic from Paul and tells Miami to acknowledge him.

Roman says tomorrow night him and Brock Lesnar defend their titles at Madison Square Garden.  You already know what he is going to do.  He is going to smack whoever steps up and I will send him to the back of the line.  Brock’s defense is where it gets interesting.  Not all of us want to see Brock with that title.  Not all of us want to see Brock make it to Wrestlemania?  Do we?  Roman says that is not how he feels.  He wants Brock to make it to Wrestlemania to hand over his title to the Tribal Chief.

Roman asks Paul what is the line he always says and Paul says it is not a prediction, it is a spioler.   Roman asks if they should give Miami a spoiler tonight.  Roman sys he is like Babe Ruth around here.  He calls his shot and he delivers every single time.  Look at last year’s Wrestlemania and I did what I said I would do.  At Wrestlemania, in the biggest main event of all time, I am going to smash Brock Lesnar.  I am going to pin Brock Lesnar.  I am going to stand over Brock Lesnar.  With about $5 million of fireworks going off, I will hold the WWE and Universal Championships over my head.  Brock will have no other choice but to acknowledge him.

At Wrestlemania, Brock Lesnar will acknowledge him.

Back to commercial.

SmackDown Tag Team Titles Match: The Viking Raiders vs. The Usos

Erik and Jimmy start and Erik with punches and he sends Jimmy to the floor.  Erik sends Jey to the floor and Ivar with a cannonball off the apron.  Jimmy kicks Erik and Ivar goes up top and hits a frog splash for a near fall.  Erik tags in and they go for Viking Experience but Jey makes the save and sends Ivar into the ring post.  Jey tags in and they hit a double choke slam.  Erik goes to the floor and Jimmy tags back in.  Erik is sent into the apron and Jimmy punches Erik.  Jey tags in and Erik is sent to teh floor.  Jey with an uppercut.  Jey and Erik exchange punches and Jey sends Erik into the ring post.  Jimmy tags in and they send Erick over the ringside barrier.

We go to commercial.

We are back and Jey and Erik are the legal men and Erik and Ivar hit a springboard clothesline and wheelbarrow suplex combination for a near fall.  Erik gets Jey up and Jey lans on his feet.  Jimmy tgs in and he hits a super kick on Erik after Erik sends Jey to the floor.  Jimmy goes up top and goes for a frog splash but Erik gets his knees up.  Ivar tags in and they hit Vikiing Experience but Jey breaks up the cover.  

Erik and Jey tag in and they go for the springboard combination but Jimmy uplls Ivar off the ropes to the floor.  Erick with a knee but Jey with  super kick.  The referee holds Jey back and Jimmy with a super kick from the apron.  Jey gets a near fall with a rollup.  Erik with a rollup for a near fall.  Jimmy and Jey hit the 1D for the three count.

Winners: The Usos

After the match, The Usos take the titles and celebrate as the music hits. We go to replays. Jimmy and Jey watch from the corner as Erik and Ivar recover.

– We see footage from earlier today of Big E and Kofi Kingston riding their quad backstage.

Sheamus vs. Big E

We go back to the ring and out comes Big E with Kofi Kingston. They’re riding the four-wheeler down the ramp and around the ring. Big E is driving and Kofi is slapping hands with people from the back. They park it and hit the ring to pose as we go back to commercial.

We go back to the ring and out comes Sheamus with Ridge Holland. They stop and take a look at the four-wheeler at ringside. We see footage from last week where Kofi and Big E rode off after having backstage words with Sheamus and Holland. Sheamus argues with Big E and the referee before the match begins. Kofi stands on the quad and honks the horn to the tune of The New Day chant.

Holland comes from behind and smacks Kofi in the back with a steel chair, knocking him off the quad. Big E comes over to the ropes to see what’s going on but Sheamus takes him out from behind with a chop block to the knee. Holland beats on the quad with the chair while Sheamus works Big E over in the ring. Sheamus hops on the four-wheeler and rides away with Holland on the back. Fans boo them. We see Big E trying to recover in the ring as we go back to commercial.

We are back and we see Sheamus and Ridge Holland are doing their best Disturbing Bahavior imiation when the Blue Ribbons destroyed Richie’s car.

— We take a look at Ricochet’s victory earlier tonight thanks to help from Johnny Knoxville.

Backstage:

Kalya Braxton is with Johnny Knoxville and she asks him for his response.  Johnny says that Sami Zayn is a strange, sad man.  He showed up to show Sami who he really is.  Johnny says he knows that Sami is watching.  Johnny says he has gone through insane situations so he is not afraido f Sami Zayn.  Johnny says he will see Sami at Wrestlemania.

— We are back in Baron’s break room.and he is playing darts, but you don’t bring a sword to a darts game.

We take a look at a video package for the Sonya Deville and Ronda Rousey match.

— Sonya Devile makes her way to the ring as we go to commercial.

— We are back and next week, Sheamus and Ridge Holland will face Big E and Kofi Kingston.  Sasha Banks will face Zelina Vega.

Ronda Rousey vs. Sonya Deville

Before the match starts, Charlotte Flair makes her way to the ring.

Sonya has some words for Ronda and Ronda slaps Sonya and clotheslines her.  Ronda goes for an arm bar but Charlotte gets on the apron and that allows Ronda to release the hold.  Sonya clips Ronda and then kicks her in the corner.  Sonya with a snap mare and take down.  Sonya with a Shining Wizard for a near fall.  Sonya with a rear chin lock.  Sonya pulls Ronda to the mat by the hair.  Sonya with a rear chin lock.  Ronda with a forearm and she chokes Sonya in the ropes.  Ronda with a knee to the head from the apron.  Ronda with a jumping knee and kick.  Ronda with punches in the corner.  Ronda with judo throws and Piper’s Pit.  Ronda sets for the arm bar and locks it in.

Sonya taps out.

Winner:  Ronda Rousey

After the match, Rousey stands tall as the music hits and we go to replays. Flair tells Cole and McAfee that she is not impressed by the armbar, calling Rousey a one-trick pony. Rousey wants Flair to come into the ring. Flair notices this and takes the headset off, and moves towards the ring. Flair takes her time entering the ring and tells Rousey to back away. Rousey charges and takes Flair down, then goes right into the ankle lock submission. Flair quickly starts tapping as Rousey tightens the hold in the middle of the ring. Flair screams out and the referee finally gets Rousey to let go. Flair limps around at ringside as Rousey taunts her. Rousey is all smiles as she looks up at the WrestleMania 38 sign. Rousey’s music starts back up as Flair sells the hurt ankle at ringside. We go to a replay of the ankle lock. Rousey bounces around some more and smirks at Flair as SmackDown goes off the air.
