Jonathan Gresham In Talks With AEW – Jonathan Gresham could be working for Tony Khan whether that’s in AEW or ROH. Fightful Select reports there have been assets produced indicating this. It’s unclear if the idea is for him to be strictly an ROH or AEW star or used for both promotions now that the AEW President owns Ring of Honor.
Gresham is the current Original ROH World Champion so it’s likely he will be at least working some dates for Ring of Honor. As previously reported, he was backstage at the February 23rd edition of Dynamite as he was already in the area as he held his Terminus 2 show in Atlanta the next day.
Gresham previously stated last year that he wanted to remain loyal to Ring of Honor until he couldn’t anymore. He was given his release from ROH after Final Battle in December just like the majority of the roster as the promotion went on hiatus for the first quarter of 2022.
Khan has publicly stated that he plans to continue ROH operations and be the booker of the promotion.
The report stated that at one point, there was a tentative plan in place to have Gresham work an ROH World Title unification bout with current ROH Champion Bandido at Supercard of Honor next month, but that has yet to be announced.
