Ricochet Reportedly Getting A Big Push – It appears fans of Ricochet who have been hoping to see the company do something significant with him will get their wish soon.
On last week’s episode of WWE SmackDown, there was a backstage segment where Sami Zayn apologized to on-screen authority figure Adam Pearce for overrating and attacking Johnny Knoxville earlier in the night, which set up their WrestleMania 38 match.
Ricochet showed up and noted that after hearing Zayn wanting to be a fighting champion, he was there to step up. Zayn told him to go to the back of the line, but Pearce booked the match with the Intercontinental Title on the line for this week’s episode of SmackDown.
Pwinsider.com reported today that Vince McMahon has decided to give a big push to Ricochet. Mike Johnson wrote, “We have had some readers ask why Ricochet got such a big push last week. There’s a very good explanation for that. Currently, he’s slated as the number two singles babyface for the entire Smackdown brand internally.”
Ricochet is now behind Drew McIntyre as the top babyfaces on the blue brand. Also, it was said The New Day, Shinsuke Nakamura, and Rick Boogz are considered top babyface tag teams internally.
With this news, it’s possible Ricochet wins the Intercontinental Title as Knoxville vs. Zayn doesn’t need the title on the line as WWE will get publicity with or without the title anyway.
