Four Horsewomen Match Was Seriously Considered For WrestleMania – The top women’s matches are set for WWE WrestleMania 38 but WWE was considering other plans for four of their top stars.
Louis Dangoor at GiveMeSport is reporting that in November and early December, WWE was “seriously considering” a fatal four-way match with the Four Horsewomen.
Dangoor says that the idea was to have Sasha Banks vs. Bayley vs. Becky Lynch vs. Charlotte Flair close out night one in Dallas. Presumably, the Raw and/or SmackDown Women’s Title would have been on the line but that was not stated in the report.
Dangoor noted that WWE moved away from the four-way match idea for several reasons. One of those reasons is Ronda Rousey. Plans changed once they became aware that Rousey would be available and the feeling was that she should be involved in the top singles women’s match, which meant that the four-way would be scrapped. Dangoor also stated that there was a desire from people in WWE to finish the Becky Lynch-Bianca Belair storyline at WrestleMania.
At this point, it’s unclear what Bayley and Banks will be doing at Mania but the other Horsewomen’s matches are locked in. Lynch will defend the Raw Women’s Championship against Belair and Flair will defend the SmackDown Women’s Championship against Rousey.
